My God! It really is PHASE II! Great work, james & Co.!!!
The article is interesting enough but not entirely accurate. The film and its production art was discussed in some depth in this old thread "Planet of the Titans Revisited" <link>.Yay! You did the asteroid space dock! It was perfect!
Indeed. That, and the Archer mention were two nice shout-outs to Enterprise (the series). ROCK ON!
Oooh, the asteroid spacedock pre-dates Star Trek: Enterprise by quite a bit! It was part of the original Ralph McQuarrie concept artwork produced back before Paramount decided to go with Phase II. Here's a link that shares some of that artwork and discusses early ideas for the cancelled first film.
The poem at the begining-written for the piece or is that something that's out there?
And they brought back the greatest warp effect ever!
Exactly! They basically tried to combine the best aspects of both designs. It's not the movie Enterprise. It's the TOS Enterprise with Jefferies-designed Phase II nacelles and some visible airlocks and other details.

The impulse engines ever never illuminated on Star Trek. TMP was the first place we saw that. The only remote TMP connection I could identify is that Tobias kept the artistic element of a of a grill pattern on the impulse engine, rather than just a flat illuminated plane like during TOS. But that's pretty superficial.
I was surprised by how well that worked actually. The fruit salad on the Admiral's uniform worked really well is a comment I haven't seen in the thread yet.
