Petition: Cancel Discovery And Greenlight Post-Nemesis Series

Pay per view.

The real petition is their subscription recipients.

Problem, is that they're not going to lose a ton of many and decide to make a better product, they're going to lose a ton of money and abandon the franchise for another 20 years.

If it's shit, I say that we eat it, be quiet about it, and be grateful that Star Trek isn't still fallow.

If only we could convince the casual viewers, IE people who don't care about the fans and are just watching for distraction, which constitute the brunt of the audience, to watch it, that would be great.

BTW, if it is/was fallow it could be because of excess of manure...

That said, I think it is a good idea to have some formal expression of dissatisfaction. We are the fan base and without us Trek will not succeed. They need to understand that many (most?) of us want a continuation of the universe, not a prequel. .

The "fan base" does not and never has spoken with one voice. We are a famously opinionated bunch who seldom agree on anything--as the internet proves every day. :)

I find that when people claim to be speaking for "the fans," they're usually just expressing their own preferences. Which is fine, but don't claim to be speaking for "most" of us.

I am hoping for lots and lots of cgi aliens! Can I petition for that?

The could always hire the Henson Group.
You mean Jim Henson's Creature Shop? I'm a huge Henson fan, and having the Creature Shop working on a Trek show would be a dream come true for me.
I am sorry but this is lame. I wish they did not do a prequel, but there are many things about the show that sound great.

I am worried now that DIS will be a success and we will get more shows in that era which is pretty much the same fear of having the prime universe die after the reboot movies. If you don't continue the prime universe then it is dead.
Who's to say they might not do more shows in other eras? If we watch the show and make it a success, but then also make it clear we want something in the Post-Nem. era then that would give then more of a reason to give us what we want then a petition or online temper tantrums.

Those are the people who pull the "true fan" card.

Yep. And the "Trekkier than thou" attitude gets old real fast.

Yeah, and how about this "Trekkier than thou" card? : I was watching TOS on NBC in 1966 in high school. THAT's my card. :D

I am Trekkier than thou, and thou shall bow before me!

"Mirror Mirror in the Wall, who's the trekiest of them all?"

Then the evil queen can send out George Kirk to bring back the bleeding hearts of everyone trekkier.

Oh, me too. If it is a success, they might start planning other Trek shows, even ones set in ther eras (such as after Nemesis) and that way lies madness.

Much better if Discovery fails and there is no more Trek on TV...

It's OK fans, Section 31 will be there shortly.

Threads like this are why Star Trek should die and stay dead.

With Beyond bombing and Discovery exclusive to a platform no one uses, seems I don't have long to wait for that outcome.
