When Enterprise got axed, I sincerely thought Trek was gonna be gone for at least the next two decade. I didn't believe the rumors of the reboot and now, barely 12 years after the end of Enterprise and we have a new series with new blood, as all of us were begging for.

I do hope they reached out to Manny Coto. I think his name would go far to woo the Enterprise fans that were burned by the finale and he had genuine enthusiasm for TOS.

These Are The Voyages felt like Star Trek's funeral. I remember hanging out with one of my friends, who has been a Trek fan for as long as I have, and he had tears going down his face. There were some of us who really thought it might be dead forever. How many TV legacies have come back from both a crippling box office and bad TV showings? Gene wasn't around to really rally a call-to-arms. It didn't seem like there was anyway to keep it going.

So I smile every time I see the word "Discovery" now. I was still a teenager when Trek went off the air the first time. I'm almost 30 now. I have nothing but hope that Discovery does Trek justice in a way we haven't seen in a long time.

    She?

I was under the impression that Star Trek The Experience had closed down. Am I wrong in that respect? If I am, I'll look into that holiday I promised myself again! And are you sure that Las Vegas hasn't gone? There's been enough emergencies on CSI that made it look like it ;)

That's why I think of 'These Are The Voyages' differently to a lot of fans I think. I never saw it as the last episode of 'Enterprise'. I saw it as the last episode of 'Star Trek' and yes, it did leave a lump in the throat.

How can we launch a petition on a show, which has not begun yet?
Things being said, after several episodes or even at the end of S1, this petition could meet a certain success, especially if it doesn't meet its public!

I would have preferred a post-Nemesis series too (I already wrote how tired I was with prequels) but, it doesn't necessarily mean that I am not going to give a chance to Discovery, in particular if the scenarios are good as well as the casting (impatient to discover the name of the leading actress - > I watch Voyager, from s1 to s7, only " because of " Kate Mulgrew so..) :)

It's funnier when you read the comments those signee's made.

"In my opinion it is a very bad idea, and alot of people agree with me."

When did three people - one of which admitted to being a pity sign - become a lot?

I like the comment from the person who does not agree with the petition but signed out of pity.

No, no. If you read that comment more closely, you see that the person says the petition is a very bad idea, and that the petition should be cancelled. The rest of the comment says "Yes, cancel petition regarding Discovery Trek. Petition is bad and created by bad person. Mental patient perhaps, but no proof."

The only way to voice a dissenting opinion on these e-petitions is to sign the petition and leave a comment.

Out of four "supporters" on this petition, two of them are actually against it. Not that it would make any difference, or that CBS would be obligated to listen, anyway.

The world is going to much more orderly after spitting in a cup, replaces the signature. No, standardized thumb prints are a really bad idea, because then junkies will start collecting thumbs in the dead of night from the unsuspecting.

The reason that the signature prevails is that it doesn't cost anything to implement or verify, unlike a DNA reader or an EEG.

Most new cellphones can read thumb prints.

But I already explained why that is a really bad idea.

As long as the show has good characters, and tells great stories....I don't care what era, or timeline, or universe it's set in.
