People who would make convincing aliens in Trek

I always thought it was the other way around, that the cardassian's were modeled on Walken!

I can totally see Damar going "I got a fever...and the only prescription...is MORE KANAR!" :D

Fun fact: You know who was almost Kruge in ST III? Edward James Olmos. You can look it up. :techman:

And that would've been just as bad as Jack Lord (of Hawaii Five-o fame) as Captain Kirk. Don't get me wrong: EJO is awesome, but imho only Christopher Lloyd could pull off being Krudge level nuttiness.

As for my pick for an alien: James Marsters as a Romulan. I think he'd be brilliant. He had auditioned for the part of Shinzon in Nemesis and I think he would've been a better choice.

Geez, how many people auditioned to play Shinzon? Apparently Jude Law and Michael Shanks did, now Marsters too?

Speaking of whom:
Shanks as Tobin Dax. You know you want it.

Yeah, but Marsters is the only one who can kinda be confirmed (if Marina Sirtis can be believed).

An interesting choice.

^ I thought I remembered that Shanks actually tried out for Tobin as well, although that was probably only a rumor or hoax.

I love this. :D One of my "hobbies" is matching actors to their Star Trek alien races.

Cardassians:

Adrian Pasdar
Clancy Brown
Joel Gretsch
Swoozie Kurtz
William Fichtner (could also play a Rommie)

Romulans or Vulcans:

Christopher Gorham
that guy who played Brutus in Rome
Elizabeth Mitchell (could also play a Cardie)
Zach Levi

Klingons:
Rosario Dawson (she's said that she'd do it)
Adam Baldwin, in whole-hog, crazy-ass mode
Tyler Labine

Vortas:
Johnny Depp
Morena Baccarin
Kristen Chenowith

Bjork as a Vorta.
She's too weird for us, no thanks. :D

Just to avoid spamming the thread with lots of huge pics, I'm just going to send you over to my Trek art gallery, where you can see Jude Law, Claire Danes, Katee Sackhoff, Gina Torres and Marc Warren as various Trek aliens (these were manips done for RPG characters).

Jude Law is an Andorian chan, Katee Sackhoff is a shen, Warren is a thaan, Danes is a zhen, and Gina Torres is a Klingon.

They'd save a few pennies if they hired Bill Bailey to be a Klingon.

LOL So true!

It turns you're even more right than I thought, didn't even know this until I looked up his IMDB trivia page:

An avid Star Trek fan, he named his son (born 2003) after the Star Trek: Deep Space 9 character Dax and often refers to himself as a Klingon. He once claimed during his "Part Troll" tour that his ear-mounted microphone made him resemble "a wizard in a call center" and "a Klingon motivational speaker".

I can see him as Gowron's little brother.

I agree that Adam Baldwin would make a great Klingon, but I'd like to see him do it as a QuchHa' - that is, a TOS Klingon. Having him be a 'normal' one would be too Jayne Cobb-ish.

The Olson twins, one klingon, one romulan. Let them play off against each other.

Romulan's are fairly slim, let the druggy twin be Romulan.

James Marsters doesn't look anything like a young Patrick Steward. But that it seems wasn't one of the qualifications for the role.

I kept getting distracted watching the Auburn-Mississippi State game yesterday because the ref looked like a young Marc Alaimo. Not kidding.
