Posting this here as well, the DC Showcase podcast had Charissa Barton on their latest episode, who choreographed the title dance numbers:

This show is the BTVS spinoff they never made. Older group of characters, more extreme. But the same picture.;)

I'll just reply to you both at the same time. Yeah I saw the podcast and I get what Gunn is going for. And as he's the creator of the show, I fully support his decision to do things his way. However, it doesn't mean I always have to like the final result. And for me personally, the new opening credits just don't work.
Agreed. I get Gunn's reasoning, but it still prefer Season 1 music. To me its too iconic with the show not to use. I would have preferred keeping the music and changing the chorography.

Alt-Chris keeps disappearing. What if he's part of the resistance?

Or.... if this alternate dimension is what most people think it is, then alt-Chris can't be himself in public.

Is it just my impression, or there isn't a single black person in the alt-dimension?

1. Plague.
2. Dutch slavers never bothered selling in Alt America.
3. Mass deportations.
4. Enhanced segregation.
5. Slavery is still a thing, and this is a white zone for loading and unloading only.
6. Self imposed Immigration.
7. Eugenics.
8. Black people won the war, living in opulence, so what we are seeing are the white losers living in a hillbilly shanty town.
9. By the 30th century, within Legion of Super Hero Lore, all the black people on Earth, went to live on a magic invisible island (Google says that that is not exactly what happened, but close enough.) and that all just started a few years earlier on this earth.
10. They've all gone to see Cosby in concert with Michael Jackson and OJ, none of who have as yet been unmasked as monsters.

Is it just my impression, or there isn't a single black person in the alt-dimension?
And the Kardashians aren't famous there because their dad defending OJ never happened because OJ could never be a OJ (n a fame sense, not the murder) in the Nazi dimension.

Well, that cold open re-contextualized some things.

Is it just my impression, or there isn't a single black person in the alt-dimension?
i don't think I saw a single person of color in the alt-dimension. And, my guess, this is the dark secret of this "best dimension ever".

Also, Rick Jr. dating the Enchantress is canon.

Anyway, now it's time for the new episode of the podcast, this time with - who else? - Joel Kinnaman:

Ok, found this on Reddit (I'm Italian and I didn't get the reference at all, this sitcom has never been broadcast in Italy).
In episode 2x03, Peacemaker made a reference to the 70s sitcom "Whats Happening", it was a sitcom starring a black cast. Alternate Harcourt didn't get the reference. Could be it was never aired. The fact that it's a predominantly black cast makes it seem suspicious when there seems to be only white people appearing on this alternate earth.

I'm assuming that's also why the Kardashians aren't a household name. No OJ, no OJ trial. No Ray J, no sex tape. Or maybe they just aren't white enough on their own anyway.
