Patrick Stewart going back to Hollywood

Speaking of films, I am STILL wondering what is the status - if indeed it ever existed - of Stewart's version of The Merchant of Venice (actually Merchant of VEGAS in this version) which he is supposedly working on with McKellen. Anybody know?

He did a Vegas set Merchant Of Venice on stage with the RSC last year - no idea about a film.

Oh, well our (UK theatre) loss is Hollywood's gain. But I can't complain, I've had more than my fair share of seeing him in theatre over the last few years.

Saw him and Ian Mckellin in Waiting for Godot a couple of years back - phenomenal!

Man I wish I could get those types of performances on video!

They are recording a lot more theatre over here in London for online or DVD release but sadly I don't believe that was one of them.

His Macbeth which I thought was stronger than the Godot is available on DVD I believe as the BBC filmed it as they did with the David Tennant/Stewart Hamlet of a few years ago.
