PACIFIC 201 - A Star Trek Film

Great take on the NX class and loved the rationale of the idea that the design of each ship built may have evolved to the point where the NX-07 looked very different to the NX-01. I can imagine this being a later refit cycle of the ship where each refit has tweaked her even further from the original style (in my head say the nacelles could have looked more like the original and were later replaced with these units which look more like the Pacific's.

Looking forward to seeing that Bridge redesign you mentioned and is there any chance we could get a copy of those orthographic renders used in the TrekYards discussion?

What do you guys think of the new uniform?

I like a lot of the facets of the uniform, the concept of the fibers, the placement patches, etc.

I think that the colors might need some work, possibly more like similar to the Kelvin's uniforms in terms of tone, possibly? Not sure how to articulate it better, but the pants and shirt are kind of mixed to me.

New Teaser Clip:

"Public opinion is split on space exploration. Some feel that in peacetime, Starfleet should return to exploring the unknown. But others think that exploration only invites hostile aliens like the Xindi and the Romulans. In a risky PR move, Starfleet has sent a representative to the talk show of the controversial personality "Zach Jasper", who is somewhat known for his disrespectful and xenophobic attitudes. This representative is Commander Alisa VanDre, a young Dutch woman who has rocketed through the ranks and become one of Starfleet's most celebrated officers."

I am very excited about this project :bolian:

That was excellent!:techman:
Brought to mind Sam Jackson in the rebooted Robocop movie (and I say that in a good way, I'm a big fan of that film)

This is so relevant with all the stuff going on in the real world right now.
Very relevant, which I suppose is what good Star Trek (official or fan production) should be.
So what is the expected running time of the film?
Most likely it will be 30 minutes in two fifteen minute segments. The film was meant to be longer, however the new CBS guidelines has meant that the production will now be no more than 30 minutes in total. The producers have previously stated that Pacific 201 will be in full compliance with the guidelines.

^you could always break up each story you had planned into separate shorts, generalize it, so that no ship names are named, it's just implied that they are all on Pacific 201.

IE A plot is 30 minutes, the B plot gets a separate 30 minute separate short, the C if you have one gets a 30 minute plot. But this would also mean that you would need to keep each character's limited to each short, or implied but not mentioned, such as the Captain mentioned but referred to as "The Captain" till he is in a short.

If that makes any sense. Some might view it as cheating the system however.

Question, is that middle station the helm? Why no, for lack of a better term, desk like console as seen in traditional trek Starfleet design? Not ripping on the design just curious.

The set really does look pretty amazing.

I know I keep saying it, but I really love the look of this. It looks to be inspired by the USS Kelvin, Enterprise NX-01 and the STVI Enterprise-A, but it's clearly doing its own unique thing.

A great video and I'm still loving the unique visual style they've gone for, especially with the uniforms.

It's really nice seeing this production take shape. I'm looking forward to the final product.
