PACIFIC 201 - A Star Trek Film

Love how much thought is put into these ships. Here's the patrol ship Velocity.

I love the realism put into these designs. Not a huge fan of the redesigned Daedalus. I think the original design works just fine. But the execution of his revised design is great.

I absolutely love the aesthetic they're going with here. Now while I think Jeffries was 100% correct in his rational for keeping all the components of the ship accessible from the inside of the ship for maintenance reasons, adding more stuff to the outside of the ship works well in this case. I'll admit, I was bit put off by all the exposed equipment on the Velocity, but looking at it again, I like how it becomes less and less as you progress to the newer ships like the Pacific. These guys really know what they're doing with this and it's actually quite refreshing to see.

And to think they're doing all of this on a tight budget is actually quite astounding to me. These days, even big networked shows don't seem to understand how to use a budget successfully. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing the final thing!

Finally got around to watching the various promos for the film in the thread - very interested in seeing the final product. Seeing all these videos showing off the CG models are cool, but I would rather see more production updates instead.

Really enjoying the clip! The only thing that's driving me crazy is the framing - it's pretty obvious they're cropping 1.85:1 down to 'Scope, and it's leading to the tops of heads getting chopped off.

While not a grab-you-by-the-eyeballs trailer, it does offer some welcome exposition and given an idea of production values, script cohesion and acting chops--well done!

Glad it is progressing........look forward to seeing the final product.

CBS guidelines allow a fundraising ceiling of $50,000. If their total tops that and they keep asking, I'll worry.
Not the amount, the fact they say they need $1000 FAST to move sets, you've got 31K already...........why do you need $1000 FAST. And moving doesn't sound like a good thing..............

Sounds to me like they didn't include any contingency funds in their budget for emergencies like this. At least, that's what I'm hoping this means...
