P/C run amok...

It does seem a trifle obvious but hey, it'll make me buy the book just for a little P/C speculating. Just my luck--the book has that tiny bit of interaction and fasts forwards beyond Nemesis. Hopefully it stays in that pre-TNG era for a while! Some of my other favorite TNG books that have a splash of P/C: "Q-Squared" (the whole thing!), "The Devil's Heart" (very nice breakfast scene), "Dragon's Honor", "Rogue Saucer", Shatner's book "The Return" had great interaction, and "Death of Princes" spring to my mind. Super reads. "Death in Winter" surely will provide a P/C fix for me. :)

Speaking of P/C fiction, an excerpt from "Death in Winter," the upcoming TNG novel, has just been posted on Psi Phi. I'm not going to post any spoilers yet, but I must say that it looks *very* interesting. :p

Thank you for the heads up. I haven't read any TNG fic in awhile but I will definitely being checking this one out.

I had to delurk for this one. :) Oh my. I think I'll be buying this one. :)

This book is going to have to be very good indeed if it's going to give Q-Squared a run for its money as the most P/C of TNG novels. I loved Q-Squared, even if the characterisation was a bit erratic.

On the other hand, I think that Death in Winter may be in with a chance. I don't know how long it stays pre-NEM, but the majority of the plot will (obviously) be centred afterwards. The premise, if anyone hasn't heard already, is that Spoiler:
Picard has to deal with believing that Beverly has died
. It sounds a lot like fanfic to me!

^ I definietly have to check that out. Sounds good.

BTW Naraht, I read some of your P/C fan fic. Good stuff! :) My favorites are “…When Johnny Comes Marching Home” and “The Semi-Detached Couple”.

I love that episode's ending when Beverly gives the real Picard this funny little smile and he has this look of what the hell happened while I was gone.

"Beverly, what happened with my double?"
"Wouldn't you like to know? I wonder if he's better than you..."
"Better than me... At what?" :wtf:

Walker was head of Starfleet's Procurement Division.

Anyway, of course he was in love with Beverly, to know her is to love right?

 Well, somebody's got to be responsible for ensuring that the Federation doesn't die out. I imagine that he was the one who sabotaged their birth control as well? ;)

In my mind there was definitely a little flirting going on in Nemesis between the two. I know I mentioned this before, but when they're sitting at the conference table there is a definite warm smile between the two when they're talking about Shinzon and Bev says "He may come after you first".

Okay, I rewatched Nemesis recently and I was kind of wrong about this scene. Beverly doesn't smile at Picard, but she does sound rather lovingly when talking to him. It is Picard that sort of smiles at her. Just had to clear that up. :o :)

^^^ You're good for us, you know, Vasquez Rocks. Here mon capitaine, Gold Grizzly and I are randomly speculating about which Starfleet officer fathered Beverly's son, whereas you are actually going back to the sources and doing important P/C related investigative work. We should all be ashamed. :(

(If only because it's obvious that Wes is, of course, Jean-Luc's.) ;)

I'm just doing my P/C duty to get the facts straight. :)

And Wesley's father was The Traveller. Didn't you know that Jack Crusher was really The Traveller all along? How else would Wesley have those special powers. ;)
