Was reading something recently about the consumer being unhappy if there are too many or too few choices. This could be an interpretation of that feeling.
Personally I came of age in the early 80s. Back then I felt there was a finite amount of TV and film. You could catch up on most everything. These days I find myself realizing that I am not going to be able to watch all TV shows and movies I'm interested in moving forward. It's a simple formula of the waking hours I have left coupled with the increasing amount of material to ingest. I'm going to have to choose what to watch and you all will, too.
TL;DR, quantity is a huge factor, regardless of quality - we're looking at a landscape of nearly infinite choices for entertainment today. This might factor into the satisfaction aspect of it.
