I enjoyed 'Our Man Bashir', but I disagree that it would have been nice to see more of the James Bond parody. I think that was fun for one episode, and they did it perfectly, if they went back and did another one it wouldnt have been nearly as good. The main drama of the episode came from the interaction with Garak and Bashir about whether it was time to simply save themselves and let everyone else die. The episode became a story questioning such over-the-top heroics, contrasting Julian's fantasy of spying and Garak's actual experience of it. This isnt something that could have been easily replicated without simply doing the same kind of thing, I think it was nice where they did that one fun/silly show and then moved on. Less is more.
Perhaps...but I'd have loved some more references later on--such as Julian and Ezri coming down from the holosuite, him in the tux, her in a sparkling evening dress, and they discuss the "mission" briefly at the bar (vodka marinis--shaken, not stirred).
I also am saddened by the lack of Ezri in a fancy dress, and an S7 Bond parody venture would've been a good way to have it happen. Oh well.
Four.Awesome awesome episode. What season was it in? It was one of the best eppies that year.
