Other than that Monkey, who should have been cast as Chef?

It's kind of a bummer that Chef was introduced as a guy in S2.

Because, Jeri Ryan.

Seriously.

Given that she's trained as a chef and moonlighted as one during her time on Boston Public, and now owns a restaurant with her chef husband... she'd be in her comfort zone in the galley.

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

if Travolta can play a woman, Hoffman and Williams too, why can't Jeri plan a man? How hard could it have been to tape her boobs down? They can suspend an elephant from a helicopter, but this is difficult? Put a filky little French mustache on her too? ...O and a HUGE fake ass.

Why must a chef be a man?

Because your world of starship chefs doesn't admit women. Duh! Continuity, people...!

;) :p

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

Oh, that is just so droll.

Do we actually know who played Chef in Catwalk?

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

A year or so ago during a new Enterprise episodes parody thread, my proposed shows had Chef being played by a different actor everytime (but still the same character). French Stewart, Issac Hayes, some other I can't recall.

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

Like in those episodes of Rosanne were the blonde daughter beckie kept switching out between the original actress and Sarah Chalk when ever Rosanne would turn her back?

That would be fun. :)

I'd love/hate to try and tape those boobs down.

Anyway, I just thought of the best way Jeri could have been introduced into ENT. Let's say Male/Riker/Shatner Chef got sucked into space during the battle in "Azati Prime" and her character is introduced during "Home". Make it that she's an ancestor of Seven of Nine; totally dedicated to perfection in the kitchen or something.

Then, Braga and Coto could have written an episode that completely ripped off Under Siege. Complete with aliens trying to steal photonic torpedoes, a cameo by Colm Meaney as one of the baddies and a half-naked T'Pol popping out of a giant cake.

Alternatively, Avery Brooks.

I gather it was being held for Shatner, until it became apparent negotiations for a guest appearance weren't working out.

At some point, yes. But, originally, it was supposed to be a running joke akin to Merris in Frasier.

Supposedly he'd have been an ancestor of Kirk and a proposed Season 4/5 script was to have revisited the TCW. One of Daniel's missions involved him being taken to the 23rd Century to double for the real Kirk.

Thank God that never happened. What a stupid idea. I know about suspension of disbelief and all, but how many of you out there can say that you look identical to one of your ancestors?

The other option for Shatner on Enterprise involved Mirror Kirk becoming involved in the creation of the Terran Empire.

Also not a great option, but a more plausible one. The better of the two. I rather like that the Mirror Universe has always existed and has always been fundamentally evil.

Avery would certainly be hot jumping out of a cake.
I'm sure there's a joke about his peppers in there somewhere.

Chef's legs were played by Scotts stand in Richard.

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

They usually called Chef, "CHEF" right? Did they ever say anything like "Chef has HIS hands full" If not, Chef could be a girl.

Personally, I think Dean Stockwell would have been better suited as Chef than the role he did play on Enterprise.

Chef was refered to as "he" several times. Definitely male. Plus we saw his hands on The Catwalk definitely man hands.

Re: Special Guest Star: ? as 'The Chef'

Did you learn nothing from Seinfeld!

Never talk about the size of a womans hands... Because those manhands can be attached to some really feminine other bits and pieces you don't want to annoy.

This was in the "Photoshop This" thread

Gordon Ramsey
He could have ripped into Archer and co if they didn't like his food
"Get the fuck out of my kitchen!"
