Orphan Black - Season 2 Discussion

I didn't think it was time for a season 3 thread, but S3 has in fact begun filming up dere in Canada, eh?

Story

Some minor spoilers in the story.

Rachel "missing"? Her name doesn't appear on Tatiana's name(s) card.

I like what the synopsis seems to be implying, that the four will be working together a lot in the new season. That's a nice change from Season 2 where everyone seemed to be separated and doing their own thing.

As for Rachel, she really was one of my favorite this season, but maybe she's lying low in Season 3 and plotting her revenge. I'm sure she'll be around, maybe just not in the large role we saw in Season 2.

Trying to avoid big spoilers, but I'm excited they are starting to film again. Looking forward to season 3 and getting to know Project Castor some more.

Must watch the rest of season 2 - it's a great show but I had to pause when it got too close to home (i.e. a friend's cancer scare- but she's OK now, so I guess I can start again.)

^ It's strange when art imitates life a little too well. Glad your friend is doing OK.

I have the S2 blu-rays coming in a few days. Must do a rewatch!

Yeah, I never thought about that but it must be a royal pain for the lead actor to slip into multiple voice modes/accents as they read through the script.

Some people can do that pretty effortlessly -- cartoon voice artists, for example. Often they'll record a scene where two character they're playing have a conversation, and they don't do it in two separate takes, but just bounce back and forth in real time. There's a documentary about voice artists called I Know That Voice, now on Netflix streaming and elsewhere, that features some examples of that -- not in actual recording sessions, but just in the interviews as the actors jump between their different voices with astonishing ease (or at least with such astonishing skill as to make it look effortless). I have no doubt Maslany could do that too.

I wonder if that will be the new opening montage. Otherwise it's a pretty uninspiring teaser, even for a great show.
