Well, strictly speaking it begins first on paper, on scorepad in pencil. I compose and orchestrate there, first, and then play each part into my sequencer (Digital Performer) which is triggering 5 Gigastudio PC's worth of samples, and a few Kontakt plug-ins running in Performer. I have a track for each instrument, each articulation. So I have Solo Flute, Flutes, Staccato Flutes, Flute Trills, etc, for each section. Quite a lot in all, especially because of the percussion section.
It takes a while to get the performances right, but I've also been doing it a long time, so I'd say in the end this piece was written and performed inside of 12 hours or so.

Just amazing...incredible. I had no idea that 'virtual' music had come this far. It sounds very 'accustic' and is really mind blowing. And, hey, its not just the sound, its the arrangements that are really good too, and that comes from YOUR MIND and that is really something to be proud of...good for you!!! Bravo zulu!!
