Open Secrets was a bit filler friendly, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And yes, the loose ends definitely left me looking every bit as forward as I have since I read the first book, and I am not your typical read-read-reader (somewhat ironic, given that I work in a library).
T'Prynn's story was a little long and drawn out, but if anything it reinforced what a hell she was undergoing.
I can't wait for more of the Carol Marcus stuff. Those few morsels in Open Secrets have me longing for more. It has me looking back through the previous novels to see what I might have glossed over in the first read.
Tholians, Organians, and Shedai... ? Bring em' on.
Can't wait for David Mack's next entry.
