Dear Misfit Toy;
It ain't pirated if you bought it and want to share. It ain't asking for pirated software unless you do it in a back alley & keep it a secret. It ain't pirated if you lend someone a copy of a tape or disc you made for yourself. Technically, anytime you tape or record a TV program you are in violation of the law. I'm willing to bet you've done a bit of pirating yourself. The board's definition of "pirated" or "illegal" is subjective, to say the least. My request was neither covert or illegal, when you consider how much ST software is considered abandonware these days. But then again, I do not live in fear of corporate ghosts who MIGHT be reading boards such as this, once every 50 years.
I made an innocent request for an exchange of information. I didn't ask anyone to steal anything, or mass duplicate anything, or hint at any profit motives. I didn't ask anyone to break into the vault at CBS or Paramount. I was just hoping someone might be able to lend a hand. Maybe even be willing to sell me THEIR copy or an extra one for a few bucks. But no one ever got the chance to have their say. Pity.
As the likelihood of my being permanently banned from this board seems a foregone conclusion, I would appreciate the courtesy of a personal reply. You have my e-mail. Will you dare use it?
Sincerely;
An Innocent Man.
