Once Upon A Time Season 4

I don't pretend to understand how the networks parse the ratings, but this link sounds good for the health of the show.

Specifically,

Once Upon A Time (8-9pm – 5.1 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): Building on its lead-in at 8pm, ABC’s Once Upon A Time won its hour, finishing #1 against its regular competition for its 8th straight first-run airing in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5). The ABC drama was steady week to week in Adults 18-49.

And here is that multi platform ratings data that DW was talking about.

I don't understand it, either, but if they're happy, that's all that counts. :rommie:

This season was certainly better than last season and they have a new quest to go on. Gotta won der though what Gold will be like without the dark one in him.

They touted what a big role Michael Socha was going to have this season. He was vastly underused and ignored. Wonder if he'll be back next season? And Merlin is the sorcerer? That doesn't particularly excite me, but I have faith in the writers or authors should I say lol

50 years ago - the apprentice came to "our" realm (1966) to find a new author (Isaac). His job was to record the events happening in the Enchanted Forest.

Our realm, 1920s - Isaac met young Cruella DeVil and was smitten with her. He was later betrayed by Cruella.

I thought there was no time travel in this series.

Cruella isn't from our world. Her world is perpetually stuck in the 1920s, just as Alice's is perpetually stuck in the Victorian Era.

That makes sense, especially since Isaac hadn't been around the enchanted realm for very long, relatively speaking. His imprisonment would have happened around 33 years ago, shortly before Emma's birth.

It was a good season finale, making Henry the main hero of the story by injecting himself into Isaac's twisted fiction and saving the day.

Isaac's version of the Enchanted Forest didn't necessarily reflect everyone's polar opposite. While mirror-Snow was fueled by her desire for vengeance, mirror-Regina didn't turn out to be a villain, but more like a woman down on her luck. Mirror-Rumple had magical powers but used them mostly for good. The real villain in this story was Isaac.

I wonder if Season 5 will have two different arcs, as in previous seasons (Peter Pan/Zelena, Frozen/Queens of Darkness).

BTW, the only characters who are associated with existing stories who ARE from our world are the Darlings.

The finale was excellent, as has been the case for the previous 3 season finales, but the one question I'm left with is whether this Emma becomes the Dark One story is something that existed in Adam and Eddy's original outlines for the show that were created 13 years ago, or if it's something that they came up with while planning out this season's arc.

There is no "our world".

Emma, et all is just too vain to accept that her realm too is also a story.

It's Galileo all over again.

"The Earth revolves around the sun, and the sun is just another star! We are insignificant!"

"Bull shit, the Earth is the centre of the universe, and everything revolves around us!"

:)

You know what would be hilarious is if Emma's New York, was really the home to Friends Fanfiction.

Hmmmm.

The Dark one looked like Venom from Spider-Man comics, and when the Dark One really let loose, it looked exactly like the Troubles breaking loose at the end of Last Half season of Haven.

Forgive me, but couldn't have all that shit been sorted if someone, even Emma, had killed Gold with the Dagger, BEFORE his heart went dark? Not only did Gold know this, but Gold warned everyone that this pending apocalypse is what was going to happen 2 episodes ago. Was his additional 2 hours of life grabbing his chest in agony worth risking the destruction of the realm?

How long do you guys think that Emma will be the Dark One? Is it permanent? Or will it happen in the first arc or will it last until the end of season 5?

Exactly, there are ads for Encom computers and Space Paranoids is a game Emma played as a kid. Her world is the "real world" from the Tron films. This means that we can get a Tron crossover and go to the realm of the Grid.

If they / Emma killed Gold, they would have deserved the mantle of the Dark One.

But Emma didn't kill anyone.

In fact, Emma sacrificed herself to save someone.

That's got to mess with the dark karma in some manner that's favorable to the savior.

I have to admit, that it was nice to see Emma go the extra mile for her co-parent, her friend, Regina. :bolian:

Even Regina has to admit that this time Emma really DID have her "back".

It must have shocked the heck out of her.

I wonder how much fun Snow had, dressing up as the "evil" queen. :rommie:

Here's to hoping Emma keeps her flawless skin, and doesn't inherit the green/gold makeup that belongs to the Enchanted Forest. ;)

The glitter-scale makeup is the defining visual element of the Curse of the Dark One, so they kind of have to put J-Mo in it at least once.

Series ratings over the years

The finale was a lot of fun. I loved the alternate Enchanted Forest.
So I wonder if we'll just get full on Evil Emma or if we'll get a story with her struggling to control the Dark One powers before either getting rid of it or losing control?
I wonder if Gold will be back?
