On Tuesday, which version of ST:XI will you buy?

^ cheers, J. Allen. Most illuminating. Many choices!

Thank you.

Yeah, there are a lot of choices. Walmart will be having the standard case with the DVD and 3 Disc Blu-ray. Target will have the Single disc DVD, Single Disc Blu-ray and the 3 Disc Blu-ray in the Enterprise case (the one I want).

Now, to set this all apart, Amazon.com has a special 3 Disc Blu-ray that also comes with a collector box and a pewter/metal Enterprise ship. ($90!!)

J.

I will be getting the 2 disk DVD from Walmart. I live less than a mile away from a super center so I will show up at midnight Monday/Tuesday to buy it and plan on pulling an all-nighter since I do not have to work on Tuesday and I am a night owl anyway.

I have to wait until christmas until I get my 2 disc edition of Star Trek damn it anyway I will probably rent it out from my local store.

No, I was being serious, how many versions are there?

I'm hearing steel box, and mini Enterprise.

Or do you mean blu ray or DVD?

In the U.S. there are versions:

1) Single Disc DVD version in standard case
2) Double Disc DVD version in standard case.
3) Single Disc Blu-ray in standard case.
4) 3 Disc Blu-ray in standard case.
5) 3 Disc Blu-ray in Enterprise case.
6) 3 Disc Blu-ray in steel case.

That's all I can think of, and I may be wrong on one or two of those, but I can't seem to find all the information together.

J.

I'll add to your list:

1) Single Disc DVD version in standard case
2) Double Disc DVD version in standard case.
3) Double Disc DVD in plastic Enterprise case (Target).
4) 3 Disc Blu-ray in standard case.
5) 3 Disc Blu-ray in plastic Enterprise case (Target).
6) 3 Disc Blu-ray w/ metal Enterprise sculpture (Amazon).
7) 3 Disc Blu-ray in steelbook case (FYE).
8) 3 Disc Blu-ray with badges (Best Buy)

I got the two disc DVD today. Allegedly it came in a HMV exclusive box but wasn't that much different from the standard one.

3 Disc Blu-Ray, and I don't even own a player or HDTV yet. I'll have a Blu-Ray HTIB and HDTV by Christmas.

Geez! Does anyone remember this many choices for any other movie that's been released?

Transformers 2 had the same amount. The only difference was that Amazon didn't have an exclusive, but Walmart had an IMAX edition.

Stupid question alert!!

Does the BD 3-disc set (or any BD set) come with a standard DVD version of the film? I know it has the digital version but I don't have a BD player yet and wish to be able to view it on my standard DVD player in both my home and my van. If it doesn't, I'm stuck buying the cheapo $10 single DVD version until I can afford a BD player.

Please advise...
