Spoilers On Seven and sexuality

You know Stamets and Culber might be Bi or maybe they were just that in the mirror universe since they were having sex with mirror Georgiou. Of course this has been a question since Kira ended up being gay in the mirror universe. Does it make sense for the same person have different orientations in a different universe were they are exactly the same except different memories because of lives lived differently.

It's possible but in theory regular Kira would also have to be. Which I actually could see being possible. Kira seems like someone who is not always comfortable with herself. She feels a lot of shame and guilt from the violence she had to do plus she basically lived a life as a child soldier with no schooling so it's amazing she is even decent at interpersonal skills.

It's truly an odd place when more representation draws ire from the group being represented.

As odd as it sounds, I don't care about characters or their sexuality. If Star Trek just did the action/adventure thing without the sex thing I would be happy about it. I have enough relationship and sexual drama in my real life.

So you give an answer. Many people actually don't want to see on screen something that they have enough in real life.

This whole topic is so ten years ago. If Picard was supposed to be as progressive as TOS was relative to its time, they'd have had to put a couple of trans people on the crew.

Come to think of it, one of those prerelease leaks claimed that Jurati was going to be trans. IIRC that was the same leak which claimed that Rios would be killed in the finale, leaving Cabrera to play just holograms in season 2.

Maybe she is. How would you know?

I wasn't trying to convince you, merely stating my opinion.
Incessant reiteration says otherwise.

Aren't you missing a few letters, symbols etc? People might complain.
Seeing you want the folks removed from sight, it's obvious their presence has you complaining.

I realise they exist. I am one myself, and I don't need to see myself on tv to feel good about myself. Sure the occasional one is cool, but when it's done to the extent these shows are doing it it's just patronising and embarrassing, to me at least.
You keep saying your gay as though it absolves your stance as being homophobic saying you want them gone from sight.

The miiror universe characters have this awful habit of displaying sexual openness as a deviant trait. Its all sex and leather with the mirror people as if thats something dirty and evil

I always saw it more as kinky and eventually high camp. The first DS9 mirror episode is actually a good solid episode will real emotional stakes. The rest are kind of cartoonish campy pew pew stuff your not suppose to take all that serious. Well I think the Alternate Bareil might have them trying to sort of return to the first one and do a real episode but the 3,4 and season 7 one was the pure camp escapism.

Television is a devious trick to make you buy things that you do not need.

Representation endears you to television which weakens your resistance to ads about frilly coffee and blue jeans.

Stick enough fictional gays on the box, and the real gays out there will be helpless.

There is a lot of pink cash floating about, and a lot of skeevy people are willing to pay the Picard producers to make many, many, many actors pretend that they are gay for a little bit, to get it.

All bear income will be mine.

How many gays do there have to be on television until the coffee and bluejeans people have all their homosexual money?

The problem is, if you get all the gay money, then conversely, you've lost all the conservative religious money, which is more.

Soooooo much more.

So enough gays to please the gays without repelling the bible thumpers.

Sigh?

15 gays per show?

My math is perfect.

BTW people keep saying 3 LGBT+ people in Discovery
Who is the 3rd after Stamets and Culber? this is a genuine question as I dont watch it alot

There were female or male crewmembers at the dance party in the Mudd episode who appeared to be together as couples, bumping the number up to 3, 4 or maybe 5.

Jett Reno told she was married a woman.
David Mack says Detmer's bi according to her character profile. I'm pretty sure she was with a woman in the S1 party time-loop episode although I'm not sure they did anything obvious.

That's someone else. Detmer can be seen kissing a male officer during some iterations of the party.

How about as an acknowledgement that it's normal and accepted in society?

An acknowledgement (as if one is needed in 2020) ... or a huge flashing billboard with sirens blaring and spotlights pointed to it? Discovery and Picard are doing the latter.

So you are just as angry about Keiko O ' Brien ?

You're comparing Keiko with a member of the senior staff ? Really?

We have had characters like that before. Kassiday Yates as much as I like the character was their to be a love interest to Sisko. Same with Keiko to Miles O'Brien Leeta sort of to Bashir but then it became Rom. That was a interesting changeup.

None of them were members of the main crew of a series. A crew of what, 6 or 7?

I hope that the PIC crew go full on like the crew of The Connaught from The Expanse just to really mess with heads

People keep thinking I cry myself to sleep at night about this or it angers me in any way whatsoever. I suppose it makes it easier to dismiss criticisms if you imagine I'm like that. I genuinely just find it pathetic and cringeworthy, that's all.

saying you want them gone from sight.

Oh please. How childish. I find the cast of Discovery unlikeable in pretty much their entirety, I'd quite happily see the lot of them replaced with a more charming cast, like on Picard, but nowhere have I spoke of any homophobia. I just find the showrunners obsession with sledgehammering in as much SJW politics as possible, tiresome.
