Oh come on!!

I don't really see why your basic jeans would ever go out of fashion really.
Look at Converse All Star shoes, the design hasn't changed since they were introduced about 90 years ago, and they're still popular as ever.

Plus Archer wears jeans in the 22nd Century, and so what

Kirk's Incredible Self-Destructing Shirt! Spock fights Kirk to the death without getting dirt on his shirt, Scotty fights a bar full of Klingons with little more than a shiner but Kirk's shirt rips whenever he so much as stumbles.

It was just jarring considering how they've always gone out of their way to try to make the clothing on Trek look "futuristic."
I guess there's no reason why they couldn't be wearing denim, but wouldn't you think the style and cut would've changed over 300 years? For instance, maybe bell bottoms are back (I mean, look at their uniform pants). And a brand name! Levi's! It was product placement. The first and only time in Trek, I'll bet.

I guess Kirk should've been drinking a Budweiser and had a little aligator on his shirt, too. ;)

I think that exhausts that for me, so on another note:
-- "Take Me Out to the Holosuite." Hoaky and cliche. Too light. Kind of embarrassing to watch (and I'm a big baseball fan). Also, too derivative of the much better-done WKRP softball game episode where Les becomes the hero.

The jam session in Way to Eden

Wesley Crusher sitting at Conn in an emergency situation, when - if Picard insisted on making him an acting ensign - he should have been down in engineering working as one of a team where he could learn from the experience. Also, it had been established early on that his expertise was engineering.

The episodes with Lwaxana Troi where she hung out with Alexander in the mud, and when she was horney.

-- blue jeans
What's the problem with blue jeans? Would you prefer Kirk was wearing white jeans? Skintight white jeans...

Shatner just looked like he was wearing whatever he wore to the set that day. Anachronisms appear in Trek, but unless we rationalize it by saying the "20th century look" was in at the time (including flannel and checks), it didn't work for me.

And, they were obviously Levi's. Still making 'em almost 300 years later, apparently. Same great style. Same great fit.

christopher pike wore jeans in scene that was pulled from his mind in the cage.

shrug..

as for the topic..

tatv
final fronteir except for what does god need with a star ship

Yes, in the TOS episode "Court Martial" when Spock used a Radio Shack Microphone to mask out peoples' heartbeats.

..but can you think of other scenes or moments in TREK history where you thought to yourself..."THIS IS STUPID"

One that always annoyed me was from The Best of Both Worlds, Part II

Data has spent a while trying to find a command to stop the Borg. Picard grabs Data's arm and says something like "...sleep, Data, sleep". Then Dr. Crusher say's "He must be exhausted". WHAT! She is usually written so intelligently and I guess it always got under my skin that in that one instant she sounds like an idiot.

And the flotation device was one of the dumbest.

just my 1/2Cent

ENT: Unexpected - The alien species advanced enough to have a cloaked ship and holodecks tries to create water and it ends up like clear jello.
