Official Smallville Season Eight Spoiler Thread

Millar- Gee Gough what are we doing next season?

Gough-Same thing we do every season Milar, try to milk smallville!

They're Millar Millar and the Gough Gough Gough Gough

Gough-NARF!

yeah they're gone but they're lame writing lives on

There have been rumors of a ninth season that the execs of CW have been contemplating a ninth season. If that happens and Clark is no where near becoming Superman then I'm out. I agree that I'm starting to think that we won't see him become Superman or get that payoff. This series has been all about Clark Kent and they might stick with that conept to the bitter end and I have a feeling it will be a bitter end.

On the positive side...as I said after posting the Legion announcement maybe this is their "different way" of progressing Clark towards becoming Superman but yeah we might not see him become Superman.

As for Clark, he has "basically denied that there's anything going on with a superhero in Smallville or Metropolis," Swimmer says. "When the question's ever asked, it's always just sort of this mystery. This season's going to be fun for us because it's going to reach a point where he can't deny that there's somebody out there saving people. I think that that's a key change in the mythology of of Clark Kent," he reveals. "It's a big change for him to actually say, 'Yes. It's not me, but there's something out there,' and that's the beginning of his double identity."

]" One [criticism of] Clark Kent is that he's always been reactive in our show. His decision to go to the Daily Planet is his way of saying, 'I've got to use my powers to help people.' So when the guy in the audience [of the Comic-Con panel] was talking about testosterone, we're like, you want to see some testosterone? He's going out there. He's looking for it. I think the fans, Superman fans, will be delighted with that," Slavkin says.
That's a lot closer to being Superman than previously on the show. He's going to be a lot more proactive than before. The decision to become a full fledged superhero in a costume won't probably come until the series finale.

This corrects one of the biggest flaws this show has had since the beginning. There should be Clark sightings. Lots of sightings! With inaccurate legends and theories to explain these events. Clark should be encouraging these false ideas to distract from himself. I hope he wears a suit and tie while working at The Planet. He should only wear his red jacket when he uses his powers. Almost a prototype secret identity before the real deal. Almost like Indiana Jones. Of course they should have done this a few years ago!!!!!

^ I like that idea...the cape he was given last season should begin to inspire him to forge an alternate idenity. I should add that on Smallville Wiki one of the episodes synopsis said that Chloe and Clark will be attending the Warrior Angel movie premire, perhaps being further insprired by his childhood hero Clark decides to take an alternate idenity.

Not sure if this has been brought up before...probably has but at thirteen pages long I'm not going to bother treading back to find it...I was again browsing Smallville Wiki and in their notes section for the episode "Toxic" which is the premire of the Warrior Angel movie, they say that Ollie has some kind of past connection to Tess during the time he spent recuperating on the tropical island. Not sure what to make of that.

Actually Clark wasn't into Warrior Angel they said in one of the episodes. That was Lex who was enamoured by the character. Namely because he was bald like Lex.

So they already retconned that last season when Lex said something to the effect of "remember when we used to read Warrior Angel together?" I think I butchered the line but you know.

^ Unless they retconned it yet again (which is possible even I'm having trouble keeping up).

We need the Infinite Crisis of Smallville...

Wasn't there a scene in an early episode where Lex and Clark looked at a Warrior Angel comic together?

The line was, "Remember when we used to read Warrior Angel to each other laying on the picnic blanket under the shade of the tree while feeding one another peeled grapes?"

that doesn't sound quite right to me ;)

I have to mentally block out the time Clark left Lex and we saw a scene with lex by a window holding a pillow and "all by myself" playing ;)

^I thought that was debunked ? I heard it was going to be a Maxima-like character, sort of like Dean Cain's character was Vandal Savage-like.
