God, this season really is going to be overrun with 'ships. We've got Chloe engaged to Jimmy, with Doomsday persuing her as well. Then it looks like we've got Clark pining after Chloe, 'sexual tension' between him and Lois, Maxima planting a wet one on him in episode 4, and the return of Lana during November sweeps. Meanwhile Ollie shows up in the premiere with Black Canary (his GF from the comics). There'll probably be residual relationship stuff between him and Lois and he's got a mysterious past with Tess, who may also show interest in Clark! Have I missed any?
oh come on, since when has Clark ever responded to a girl who was that upfront
those would be my guess.
^ Don't forget Brainiac 5...I wonder how Clark will react to seeing a descent of Brainiac's? This has me curious to how Johns will use him if at all.

As to will B5 appear in smallville, um not sure, in a way I would kind of like him to appear separate from the Legion, maybe even when he his programming has been taken over by Brainiac. (ala Dark Victory)

All this and they say its the finale season? I bet they'll clear all this up by mid season then try to cram as much as they can into the last 8 episodes to make Clark Superman and in the end it will be rushed and we'll feel disappointed.
^ I'm sorry to say that I fully believe you're right and that will be what ends up happening. Which is sad. Then again I am still in the camp that believes:
a.) We will never see Superman in this series in any form (it would happen after the finale).
b.) Lois is who pushes him into being Superman.

It's just speculation that it's the final season. I mean it probably is but it's possible there will be another. I suppose it all depends on how the ratings are for Smallville and the other shows on the CW.
His role on Without a Trace is over. They completed the story arc involving his character.
I once had this idea that the SFX guys could CGI the Superman suit over Welling as he flys.
It's funny that Welling doesn't want to be Superman/ wear glasses and Clark doesn't want to be Superman and has no need for glasses. It's like he was made for the role

How?? The well has run bone dry on this thing. Either he's Superman or he's not. Welling's not Clark Kent anymore. He's too old. He's not a kid. He's older than Reeve was when he did Superman back in '78 for crying out loud.
