Official Smallville Season Eight Spoiler Thread

Naaa-aaah. Nothing and No-one gets old on Smallville.

If Lois is going to "dump" Ollie for a superman like Clark, then of course he has to wonder if there's any point at all in being a man at all in the shadow of a superman? Note what happened (in comics) to Lex Luthor and Batman under the shadow of Superman. They excelled exemplary in their fields to make the man of steel seem inconsequential.

God help us all if Black Canary licks her lips when talking about Clark.

they should keep Roy for a Green Arrow spin-off.

that or given recent spoilers is there any chance he could be sent back in time to the time of Robin Hood?

To meet Robin Hood, or be Robin Hood?

there was a neat little Incredible Hulk comic back in the 70s where Hawkeye became Robin Hood and Stark became the sheriff and they faught. :)

1) depends if you read the spoilers or not ;)

click only if you want spoilers for S3 of Robin Hood

2) way I see it if Superman can meet a time travelling H G Wells (Lois & Clark), I see no reason the Green Arrow cant meet Robin Hood. (again this is a plot I would do, in a Green Arrow spin-off)

Geoff will dumb it down. Then the cowriters will dumb it down. Then the producers will dumb it down. then the Notes from the network will dumb it down.

This is how Smallville is always made.

So true

The legion episode won't be half as good as we imagine it will be. Remember the justice league episode?

What was wrong with "Justice"? It was awesome when it debuted and I just saw it again a few weeks ago and thought it was one of the best episodes they've done in the last two seasons. Even though "Legion" will most likely be dummed down and probably not be the same Legion we know from the comics, I'm expecting that Smallville touch with them, it should still be an interesting episode, potentially cool.

Here's a Legioneer they most certainly will not use...

Laurel Kent.

Superboy tried to make out with her when they first met, because she looked so much like Lois Lane, who he had not as yet met. :)

(Although, if they dyed Laura's Hair black?)

The problem for me is that all they did in Justice was blow up a building. Something a Billionaire should be able to do in a single phone call, or "Bart" should have been able to accomplish in a picosecond single handedly.

Aquaman's participation seemed really really forced.

Exactly! LOL! Expectations have become so low with Smallville. Simply having all the previous guest heroes appearing in one episode together was seen as "epic". I mean we got that great group power-walk shot.... (detect my sarcasm?)

I recall back when Morrison was writing for JLA... Luthor was ultrafracking the League. Batman had to admit defeat. ...But Bruce Wayne didn't. Wayne Industries almost ate lex Corp sending Luthor to the poor house with nothing but the shirt on his back to call his empire.

When Lex demolished that British chippie who was bedding him in season one to steal his secrets, now that's how a king builds an empire.

or a lunatic in clown makeup dressed as a nurse would be able to do

I wouldn't mind Jimmy bumping into a young psyche student called Harlene Qunizel this season.

I've bumped into a couple fanfilms with Harley and the Joker.

Cartoons, just do not delineate how hot Harley's costume is.

thinking about it, if there was a Justice League series, wouldn't that always be the case?

dont get me wrong you have his back story to tell, but after that he doesn't fit into the everyday episodes that well.

Of all the other superheroes Aquaman was the most questionable to ever appear on Smallville at all. Which takes place in the middle of Kansas! That is not a slam on the actual character. I think that pilot had potential. But his Smallville appearances seem to be based solely on his name recognition to noncomic fans.

In Comics...

1. He's an incredibly powerful telepath.
2. He can ask sea animals, whales and bigger stuff we'd consider to be monsters to bash the crap out of stuff. (He went to war with Japan a while back. Told them to get the hell out of the water. They weren't allowed to swim or fish. The Japanese tested his authority and it wasn't found wanting.)
3. Bulletproof and Strong. Fast. Should be able to jump like (Smallville) Clark can since he's used to operating normally with hundreds of tons of water crushing down on top of him.
4. It's Good to be King. Diplomatic plates mean that he can park on the yellowest of lines right next to reddest fire hydrants. Being able to raise an army with 10's of Thousands of soldiers who are all at least his physical equal is nothing to sneeze at either.
5. People trust him because his beard reminds them of Santa.

In the beginning there was a limitation that he could only spend an hour out of the water. But that hasn't been observed in decades. Not that he'd want to stray to far from the water for comforts sake to say the least. but then if comfort was an issue, then when paranas ate his had off just before Zero Hour, then he wouldn't have jammed a harpoon into the bloody stump half way down to his elbow when he sacked up to go to get the buggers who done did that to him.

But I think Aquaman is dead right now. They tried to stunt cast replace him with some kid, but that didn't work out well. He'll be back some day and make sushi out of the pretender claiming his mantel who isn't even cool enough to have or keep his own book.

damm my post didnt make it, but to sum up

Smallville Aqauaman has alot to learn about himself, and im not sure about him controlling sea monsters, might come across a bit silly in live action.

meanwhile there is place for him & his back story in a Justice League series, just not that of a regular.

I might however replace him with another water themed hero, one who could turn him/herself into water, would be a great way to get around the city, and still have some of Aquaman powers in the water.

Most of the episodes that Smallville has done that have introduced their versions of other heroes are pretty much just for ratings ploys IMO. The trick is to write them in a way that fans will accept this alternative versions of the comic book characters we all love and cherish. Justice was a huge fan wank despite the League not really doing anything...was that your point Guy? The building they blew up was one of the main Level 33.1 facilities in Smallville and cost Lex a lot of money, along with a sliced cheek IIRC as well. Not to mention the fact that it gave Clark a message that there are those who are willing to help him...and like minded, although he continuously acts like a douchebag undeserving of their help and support thanks to the writers characterization of him. IMO Justice was an important episode in establishing the future DCU...at least the "junior" Smallville version of it.

A message? Ollie all but called Clark a slacker douche-bag for allowing Lex to go so far with his insane plot to create post human weapons or whatever the actual final goal of 33.1 was, if the producers even considered Luthor had to have a final goal in mind this side of world domination. And this is with out Ollie knowing that Clark was responsible for the Meteors in the first place.
