TRIBBLES GALORE!!!!!
The gorn! The CGI is at the stage where it could work.
anything but Klingons or the bloody borg!

I agree.
Or the Andorians (tho I never saw Enterprise).
NO TNG villians please, what an utter lack of imagination that would be. They wrote themselves out of the prequel box for a reason - let's think of something new.
I sure hope some of these ideas are just fans joking around otherwise they suck. Talk about fanwanking to the Nth Degree.
Here's an idea why not use a race that is TOS appropriate and develop an interesting fresh story around them. Please no Borg, no Cardassians, no Dominion, no Conspiracy aliens, no Xindi, no Betazoids, no Nausicaans, no Breen etc.
The Gorn would potentially be interesting as aggressor as the Federation might be percieved as weak by surrounding empires (and the Klingons and Romulans are too buys beating the stuffing out fo each other).
Or possibly the Enigmatic Tholians, who tended to be capricious territory takers...and let's face it. the Tholains on the big screen would look cool![]()

The Tholians appeared in ENT's "Future Tense" and "In a Mirror, Darkly Part I". In the former we only see their ships. In the latter we see one of them and it is clear that it isn't armor it is like a crystalline exoskeleton. The Gorn would potentially be interesting as aggressor as the Federation might be percieved as weak by surrounding empires (and the Klingons and Romulans are too buys beating the stuffing out fo each other).

Yes, absolutely. I forgot to mention the Tholians. Are they a crystalline-based species, or they just wear some kind of armor? There was mention of the Tholians on DS9 (Tholian silk, Tholian ambassador), but they haven't made any appearance since TOS.
Coming up with theoretical storylines has been one aspect of internet fandom that has never been my thing. I'm not a screen writer and I don't pretend to be one so I have never engaged in that sort of thing and don't intend to. I prefer to let the writers write and then as a viewer decide whether I liked what they came up with or not.I sure hope some of these ideas are just fans joking around otherwise they suck. So instead of just being negative, let's hear your idea(s).

The Gorn we saw in "Arena" was awkward and somewhat laughable.
Admiral Pike comes aboard the Enterprise with his former first officer and protégé, who we know as Number One from 'The Cage.' She is a Betazoid

Lost me right there..
Please, Betazoids are crap on a stick. Lets not make my most favourite first officer in the whole of Trek one.
I'm sorry that I didn't fall all over your Betazoid story idea but you shouldn't take it personally. As far as sharing my criticism, I think I go out of my way to provide detailed reasons as to what I do and do not like about any television episode or films that I choose to comment about on this board. Please, Betazoids are crap on a stick. Constructive, thanks. You and startrekwatcher should really start your own review show and share your wealth of in-depth criticism.
now what might be interesting is that if we get number one, perhaps one of those very rare human teeps that pop up for whatever reason, without any one around to help with the breaking out and trying to deal with it on thier own
If Abrams is involved, perhaps the main villain can be named Jacob, and they can spend part of the film retconning him into all the main crew's backstory...
I didn't get it.
Well, there is one: It'd be rather unoriginal.... there's no reason why they or the Cardassians, Breen or even Q can't appear in the next or subsequent movies.
Hey that's fine. I dig most of what you post generally, but suggesting Number One be a Betazoid invokes a purely gutteral objection in me - it's not something I can even pretend to be creative about.
