Now for some fun: Pick Your Band Name / Album Name / Album Cover

The band is "Helicon Filter"
Album "(While there's) life, there's hope."

(with added reviews ;))

Oh that's gonna be pretentious crap. :p

EDIT: Meant for Z
It's all in the band name.

(I really do regret missing out on this the first time through.. Damn, why is it that at the moment I leave the BBS, all the good stuff turns up? ;))

Anyway, now for some pretentious British post-punk art-rock:

"Begin The Task Anew" By Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park

It works.

Time for some 90s Britpop.

Hmm... this one could be part of a pull-out CD liner notes design:

Can't be bothered to shop it all together but I got:

Band Name: Arz Missile (seriously, no joke, that's what I got on wiki)
Album Name: Willing to see less

All strangely in synch somehow...

A few more I shopped:

These guys sound like a big beat house dance music combo:

... and some New York punk:

Actually, I think this 70s soft rock group might be my new favourite:

These are hilarious. :rommie: And so realistic. Does that trivialize art or just artists? :rommie:

Here's the one I did last time, including track listings. I'll do another one later.

Album1.jpg

side one

1. things are (getting out of hand)
2. calibrating piracy
3. gray feminist, indeed
4. riding the northern
5. never able to repay you
6. sense and meaning (part 1)
7. magnificent promises
8. i loved the whole idea
9. therefore god
10. each problem that i solved

side two

1. in-a-gadda-da-vida

Seems like it would probably be something folksy...

This is fun! I think I'll do some more later. (Oh, but I must confess, I didn't go with the first random article I got; I know, it's the rules, but I was not going to have my band be called "Ontario Municipal Board", dammit! ;))

I'm beginning to wonder if bands such as Radio 4 and British Sea Power got their names this way. :guffaw:

One more. This one is an early forgotten album by 80s power rockers Q500 Pylon Racing, during their "hippy" phase...

:bolian:

OK, I lied about the "one more". (This game I've found is clearly more addictive than I thought - equally as addictive is coming up with suitably 'shopped cover designs.)
This really is one more now - Korean punk rockers Raon Mall who were clearly "paying homage" to their idols here:

I have three to add to the thread.

First, the introspective debut of mellow singer-songwriter Jonathan Warthen Strubel, Left On This Earth:

Next, there's the latest release from Pacific Coast rockers Heritage Square, Oaks Take Deeper Root:

My favourite of the bunch, though, is Silence of Our Friends, from venerable Swedish prog-rock outfit Kommissionen:
