nods to previous treks *spoilers*

I think I picked up on another ENT reference. When McCoy is giving drugs to Kirk to make him appear sick, I could have sworn he said "Phlox" while explaining what he was doing...as if something was named after him.

So Kirk eating the apple is a nod to him eating the apple in Star Trek II while talking about the test? Very interesting.

I also liked when Kirk said at his hearing, "I don't believe in the no-win scenario"...verbatim from Star Trek II.

Now at the end of the movie when the two Spocks were talking, nuSpock says, "you lied?" and in my head I immediately thought, "I exaggerated." I thought that was a missed nod there.

There were a couple more lines directly lifted from prior Trek, but I can't remember them.

But yes...I love it that ENT is the only Trek show in both realities.

Oh, Ayelbourne...hate to be an ass, but if you refer to the novel again, can you use spoiler tags? I can't get it until Tuesday and that bit about Porthos at the end kind of got...well...spoiled. :p Thanks.

"I have been and always shall be your friend."

"Are you out of your vulcan mind?"

Then McCoy had his I'm a doctor moment.

Loved the Pike uniform nod even thought I hated all the uniforms from TMP......nice nod.

Did anybody see the TRIBBLE, I was watchin' for it but missed it...?

I've said this before, but I believe that the design of the Starbase near earth, is a Really Huge Nod to Franz Joseph's 1975 STM.

The Kelvin unis actually reminded me of the "future" Starfleet uniforms of "All Good Things..." [TNG] and "The Visitor" [DS9].

There were many things that were "nods" that I wish they'd left out. Like the Enterprise sputtering to a halt instead of jumping to warp, a la the Excelsior. Sulu would not be that stupid. Or the bugs that make you tell the truth, just like the worms from TWOK. Making it the mouth they enter instead of the ear doesn't make it any less of a rip.

I need to know if this is so!! I am watching it again hopefully on Sat night so I will try and listen for this. We need THE SCRIPT!!!

(I am even more excited about seeing this for the second time!! Hence all the !!!!!)

As to the Ceti/Centauri bug/eels.. well ya know there are snakes everywhere, and they all have different names. Maybe it is just a very similar bug.

...or maybe during Nero's time exploring the Enterprise-E's computer banks (in the Prequel comic), he came across a reference to the Ceti Alpha Eel and went looking for something similar once he went back in time....?....

..afterall he had twentyfive years to kill...
