Well, I've certainly missed a ton...

I first dipped my toe into the Novelverse when I was 14ish (2005) and spent countless hours reading and collecting as many Star Trek novels as I could. They brought me such joy, even if I was led to feel despair/disappointment/anger/sadness. It was incredibly cool that Star Trek lived in on through those wonderful, wonderful stories.

I recently decided to play some catchup after stepping away for a few years (I just finished The Missing) and was curious how the Novelverse was being handled post-Picard and DISCO. I'm glad to see we're getting this finale but, man, am I still so incredibly saddened that it's over.

I'll cherish my Destiny omnibus signed by David Mack, my favorite author, even more now.

To all the authors on here: sincerely, thank you for everything. I hope to read more of your work in the Picard/DISCO novel tie-ins!

The Picard season 2 trailer does have a line from Q about a road not taken.

If season two of Picard has Seven’s implants missing because of the Caeliar and Hugh Laurie cameo as her husband in the alternate timeline, I would, in the words of James Cameron, shit myself with my mouth wide open.

Trekcore has the cover of book 1. Not sure where that phaser is coming from.

Probably from the phaser strip just below the deflector dish.
I read somewhere that this story is supposed to connect in some way to the Picard timeline which makes it think it’s a Crisis/Flashpoint scenario. I hope not as that would be like settling for the worst of those two timelines. That won’t sit well with me.

Nah, you can see that below the beam.

And is it really the worse timeline if the 60 billion from the final Borg invasion are still alive? However it goes, I'm excited that since this will presumably end in a reset to the Paramount+ Trek universe, they can REALLY mess with the status quo on their way out.

Still better. At least the characters we know weren’t butchered in the novelVerse. :)

I recall quite a bit of backlash to Sisko's depiction upon his return to the land of the living. And then Janeway being Borgified and killed went down about as well as a lead balloon.

    But each to their own.

Didn’t Janeway come back? I admit I haven’t read much of the Voyager books

I remember in 2011 a friend of mine who was a casual Trek novel reader absolutely refused to read the Beyer books after she found out Janeway had been killed off.

She died in a Peter David novel but I thought she came back, unless they off’d her again.

I don't know who this "Breyer" person is, but of Kirsten Beyer's ten post-finale Voyager novels, only the first three are Janeway-less (and her presence and legacy are very, very much a part of those books as well).

I knew I should’ve both double-checked my spelling and specified this happened in 2011, but I was in just such a damn hurry.

There were epic threads about Janeway's death. The Janeway lovers were mobilising their forces on Tumblr to join in on the discussion here, with links to relevant threads. In my early TBBS days I started a poll thread about it and somehow they seemed to think I worked for Paramount or something (long before the avatar) and that the poll would determine her fate.
