It's few days hard ride, and the old king is still back at the castle.
By the way, given he appears to be next to useless now, if a blood sacrifice is needed for the veil to close, anyone else wondering if Urther will get a noble end?
Yeah, it's pretty obvious neither Merlin or Arthur were going to die. I would have preferred sussing out the evil uncle earlier and dropping him in perhaps during a fight. Or even Morgana realizing that this was causing distruction she doesn't want, since she does want to rule Camelot and sacrificing her flunky and retrenching her plans.Well I found the second episode a bit thin really. A lot of wandering about to no great end. Merlin's dying, er no he's not (and no real explanation to Arthur and co when Merlin and Lancelot returned.) I also think they overdid the 'thrown back by magic' effect, seemed a bit repetitive.
The ending though...well maybe it was obvious given what we'd seen but I was still shocked to see Lancelot enter the veil. That was truly a blimey moment.
Slightly worried that the best bit of the episode was the amusing exchange between Arthur and Merlin.
"I'm only a servant."
"Good servants are hard to find."
"I'm not that good."
"True."
For god's sake guys just kiss already!![]()

Aren't the best bits usually the exchanges between Merlin and Arthur anyway?
I was annoyed at them scripting her to say "my rightful place" when it clearly isn't. Morgana would have had the courage of her avarice and call it like it is.

My rightful place as a bastard child who wants to kill her brother to attain the throne!
