Starships, which you fly about in, come in three classes, science, fighter, and cargo. The only real difference is the shielding, the cargo ships having the most. However, the freighter, which is a different, is not something you fly around in, but land your starship in. You can't fly the freighter, you can only summon it to whatever star system you are in. And you can build rooms, labs, and grow plants by building the spaces in your freighter.
As of yet, I haven't had pirates attack my freighter. I've had to defend other freighters from pirate attacks in the same system my freighter is in, but they haven't directly attacked my own personal freighter. If that is a bug in the game, I'm sure that will get fixed. Or, if I've just been lucky, that luck will run out I'm sure.
Finally got back to plsying. Had to grade down slightly to be able to use the warp drive. Unfortunately I did not check that the life support tubs onbThsmnium9. Could he a big problem, although the impulse engine runs on Iron. There is a base, which I need to claim?
Did a trade up for my ship. Got a construction manager for the base not certain where the Beacons ho
Trying to place a science terminal but cannot select it. How do you do that in the Windows version?
"z" key for build menu, Page up and down keys to move up and down in the selection menu, "q" and "e" keys to move left and right in the build menu.
If anybody else is still playing this game, a new update called Path Finder comes out sometime this week with new game content.

Due to Spider, I have a new room with a Scientist working on a terminal. Does not seem to want the voltaic cells he asked for.

Downloaded the update a few days ago. Some changes were good. Trying to get a fighter with more than 30 slots, but only haulers have more. Is this related to which system I am in?
Anyone else still playing it? Upgraded to a freighter and died enough to go to a 37 slot fighter. Not much base progress, but slowly exploring more systems.

if one were to be mean and still harp on features that were promised but not realized, one might say that sort of solitude is exactly what the designers intended since it's not possible to meet other players ingame OH SNAP!

I noticed it's still pretty much full price.
It's basically an indie game and I guess they want to milk it for all it's worth.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Rodina is a better game at 1/4 the price. (No relation to the developer or anything, I just think it's great.)
