No Man's Sky

Too bad. Learning lots of Korvax, and I have a high standing with them. Decent planet except for the radiation. Two more in the system to explore before I move on. Might be a game lasting virtually a lifetime, if I do not burn out on it.

At the very least, they should take down the proof-of-concept/prototype trailers and screenshots. It's fine to use those as promotional materials early on, but to have them up on the store page with the implication that they represent the final game is not terribly honest.

Hell, it's fine with me if they just watermark the prototype trailers with something like, "PROMOTIONAL FOOTAGE ONLY, DOES NOT DEPICT ACTUAL GAMEPLAY." While I still don't think the developers set out to lie or purposefully deceive anyone, they did a very poor job of managing expectations and being clear about what the final game would actually include in the months and weeks leading up to release.

Hey my system

AMD FX4300 Quad core 3.8 ghz
16 Gig DDR3 Ram
AMD Radeon R9 380 4gig graphics card

Should that be OK for this game, Should that keep me OK for the next year or two? I'm thinking of getting Deus Ex Mankind Divided

depends on what you're fine with in terms of resolution/quality settings/framerate

don't expect to play DXMD on 1080p/ultra/60

Depends on what you mean by 1080p

If you mean 1920x1080 most of the games I have now run at that and run smoothly, even Mad Max with graphics on high.... Not sure about ultra..

Spent too much time mining, as gold was plentiful there and the sentries were tolerable. At the space station I upgraded to a larger explorer. Last planet is barren with highly aggressive sentries. Might be due to gravatino balls. Might not stay long before I go to my fifth system, since I cannot mine or travel far from my ship orva shelter.

as I've said, that depends entirely on what you consider to be fine

Quite correct......

I think Just Cause 3 was my most recent purchase and I had that set on high for everything and it ran smoothly, the only exception being pre rendered cutscenes. They sometimes got glitchy.

But a lot of it can come down to how well the game has been coded and optimized for a given platform. Consoles are very easy to make games for since the hardware is usually the same on everyone's machines. The problems tend to happen with PC systems because no two machines are alike and everyone has different sets of components motherboards, processor, graphics cards and memory. So PC is harder to write for.

Mad Max even runs well on my current setup with everything turned up.

I have found some mods for the games, but have not tried any.

I've tried three, and two of them were disasters! One is where the lands are all flat, no more hills or mountains. Which leaves out mining of resources, since a lot of them are in hills. The other disaster is the low flying one, where with this mod you really have to be careful because you can run into trees and mountains and damage your ship, which you normally wouldn't be able to do.

The one I use is the spaceship spotter, where at the sites of crashed ships, there is a plutonium box sending up a huge orange column of smoke you can see miles away. Makes hunting down those crashed spaceships easy. At the site you either take the ship, or deconstruct everything for supplies, and afterwards destroy the plutonium box for 45 plutonium, the smoke disappears ensuring you won't (accidently) stop at the site again.

Thanks, might try the spaceship spotted since in 4 systems I have not found any crashed ships. Might be due to lack of covering enough territory.

I haven't read through all of the past 16 pages, so please bear with me! Did TPTB ever correct the "non-starter" issues on the PC version? There were lots of crash reports, etc., from what I recall, which was disappointing, to say the least.

Cheers,
-CM-
