No DS9 in syndication?

Now that TNG has a new home on the Sci-Fi channel, DS9 is the only incarnation of ST not airing in the USA. But in my experience DS9 is the most loved or second most loved by the Internet community. Any idea why it gets the least love from TV stations? Maybe because of the serialized nature of the last 3 seasons?

And for non-US Trek BBSers, do your local stations also show DS9 less than the other series?

Doesn't the Spike network hold the current syndication rights to DS9? I think they air it once in awhile on a fairly random basis, usually sandwiched between infomercials in the middle of the night.

Has Spike ever properly promoted it or scheduled it at a decent time?

DS9 is loved. DS9 is like in second place. Think the reason it does not do well on TV as you have to watch it from episode to episode without skipping. It is not like Voyager when you can watch it out of order.

What bugs me about SpikeTV is they take out a decent show like DS9 and put something that's not even really worth watching.

When Spike bought the rerun rights to TNG, DS9, and VOY, they got them exclusively, no other outlet could air them, unless Spike decided to shared those rights.

Well Spike TV says it is the first network for MEN. There are men that watch DS9, but I think Spike TV is looking for the overweight beer drinking men that watch tv and hang out in their garage to play with their man tools. Spike TV is not looking for the THINKING MAN ... no they are looking for the cave man that became the garage man

Virgin 1 (UK) had DS9 on several times a day, even primetime, until they stopped at Call to Arms and put on TNG. There should be a law preventing TNG seasons 1 & 2 being broadcast.

Come, season 1 & 2 of TNG is not that bad. Now if they had Kes on TNG in season 1 & 2 I would say sure

A channel called Sky One held the rights to show all the Star Treks in the UK for years. They definetely never went out of their way to show DS9 though.
TNG/VOY were shown in virtually every time slot you can imagine at one point or another. DS9 got a first showing and was shown a couple of times after that (but this is over a ten year period we're talking here.)
