Yeah, I did. Corrected. Meyer wrote the 20th century sequences in IV, though.

A sequence that gathered Kirk's crew together was cut from STVI to save money. It would've shown what Kirk's crew were all up to when they weren't aboard the Enterprise.

I forgot about that implication - I actually really dislike the notion that they are all scattered and need to be reassembled just a couple years after they get their new ship (and full crew complement) in IV/V - i would have assumed there was a steady stream of missions for the "A" for a few years at least after its maiden voyage, with TUC being the final one. I personally pencil in a 3rd 5YM here, actually.

There's space for that. According to the official ST Chronology, there's six years in between the two movies (2287 to 2293).

It's not like the Klingons would admit it, would they?

Never though of that idea before. :)

Why not fix the highly detectable exhaust then so that it's not detectable and it gets its value back?

A hard to produce prototype is believable.

That's completely plausible. Klingons value their honour and were not in a state to violate that agreement.

Does seems like the Klingons never put in the effort to fix that flaw...

And that's probably why, if that special equipment became standard issue for all Federation starships.

How do you know that they didn't? Maybe it was a problem that they just couldn't lick, or maybe it was an issue that they didn't think was worth the effort to try and fix. Or, very possibly, they weren't about to do something as foolish and shady as to try and perfect a Bird of Prey that could fire when cloaked when the government was working for peace that their very survival depended upon.

Here's one i just thought of:

How come every time our heroes need to contact whoever....they (the whoever) arn't in bed? Or don't answer with "Do you have any idea what time it is here??"

I'm referring to basically...our heroes contacting someone else. Not when the main cast is contacted.

Moreover, they usually answer instantly, standing right in front of the screen/camera, as if they were just standing there waiting for the call.

It's pretty much necessary considering the astronomical amount of different time tables the various ships,s tar bases etc. would be on. Gotta makes you wonder how many admirals there are for a huge organization like Starfleet.

Lots, especially when you consider that a good 50-75% of them are going to go crazy. ;)

I guess I just feel there should be a distinction between the use of the word "Terrans" referring to people from Earth, and "Terrans" from the Mirror Universe Terran Empire. But it's just a small, small, small, small, small thing that bugs me. The title of the thread did say "nitpicky things".

No, that's fair. I was just trying to follow the logic and that makes a better distinction.

Then there's different species who need different amounts of sleep. I guess Jellico was really onto something with the four 6 hour shifts. More flexibility.

The Roman Empire was comprised of "Roman citizens" mostly outside of Rome, even when it split in two and half of it was ruled by Greeks. The definition got a bit... byzantine as the centuries went on.

The Neutral Zone being used for the Klingons instead of the Romulans in the TOS Movies.

The TWOK Uniforms being used all the way up until about 2350.

Andy Probert tried to fix that in his original Enterprise D designs. He placed the bridge in the ship's center, but Roddenberry wanted it placed back on top so the audience would get a sense of the ship's scale.
