Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Wow, simply wow. :(

There will never be another.

It was fun, and sad all. I've got to bounce--projects to be done. But what a ride. Thanks again, Neroon.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Couldn't have either of them or they'd have to be paid. Plus Lochley didn't exist yet.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

This was a *great* idea. The time/episode sure went by quickly, though.

We should do it again, sometime. In the Beginning anyone? Or War Without End? It's been grand.

Okay, I'm really gone now. ;)

I love how just before he leaves...... Garibaldi grabs a shot glass.

Didn't see this earlier...but I always thought this was great.

Remembering where you came from...

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

"Babylon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations. There would never be another. It changed the future .. and it changed us. It taught us that we have to create the future .. or others will do it for us. It showed us that we have care for one another, because if we don't, who will? And that true strength sometimes comes from the most unlikely places. Mostly, though, I think it gave us hope .. that there can always be new beginnings .. even for people like us."

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

That is a great speech of Susan's! So sad to watch it get blown up though...

I'll say it did. The episode's never seemed so short before.

It would be great to do this again.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

I need to check out myself. There are a few things I need to take care of elsewhere, work being one of them.

Another commentary like this would be WONderful.. and I think "In the Beginning" is a perfect choice". But there is time to plan. For now... just bask in the afterglow.

I'd vote for In the Beginning or Severed Dreams.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

I'd like to do this again also.

It is so much fun to watch this with others. The first time I watched this series, I watched the whole thing alone because it was so many years after the fact. This was fun. :)

Neroon, thanks VERY MUCH for doing this! What a wonderful idea!

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

You are most heartily welcome, although the actual idea for a running commentary came from someone else I am sure. I NEVER tire of B5 discussions or sharing the show with other fans, especially newer ones.

What's "the other"?
I dunno about PKTG, but for mine there are only two SF 'ships worth "bothering" about (to the extent I "bother" about fictional pairings): Sheridan and Delenn, and Crichton and Aeryn (Farscape).

If Marcus and Ivanova had ever gotten their act together - and in a way, it was very cool that they didn't because let's face it, things don't always work out - they'd have been up there, too.

Anyone want to do a live commentary of the episode?

Allow me to shamelessly take full credit. :p

Nice job, Neroon. A live commentary on In the Beginning would be great fun, especially since I've finished the series since I watched it the first time (after season three). But now, best to let things sink in for a little bit. School and work to be done. And that documentary project I was supposed to do several weeks ago is FINALLY happening. I'll be (back) in Seattle for five days of interviews and concerts. It's going to be great.

In the Beginning

I was there at the dawn of the third age of mankind...

:)

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

I'd like to do another commentary, for whatever episode or movie you like. Even "Grey 17 Is Missing" ;)

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

^^
Hey, I kind of like Grey 17 is Missing. :p

Yeah, April 25 sounds good, but that's getting awfully close to finals for me. We'll have to see when I get closer to that date.
