Another suicide, reportedly. To have potentially as many as three suicides across the league in one summer is an absolute disaster.

It's hard to fathom. Three in one summer. And where Rypien had known personal issues, with Belak, he always seemed so happy, so positive. One of the people that just doesn't seem the "type" to commit suicide.

The funeral was today. And sadly, as we now know, it was suicide. What really struck me, watching the clip on TSN, was when they were interviewing Tie Domi and he was fighting back tears, talking about suicide and people needing help.

They don't look too bad, but I did have the same Maple Leaf thought when I first saw them. Will take some time to get used to, much like any other new jersey.

That was my takeaway, too ... with the shoulder stripes on the whites, it kind of looks like they took the Colorado Avalanche uniforms and changed the color scheme.

Honestly, if he's still having symptoms nine months after the hit, I hope he skips the season, disappointing though it would be. Crosby's far too young, and concussions (and other brain injuries) shouldn't be messed with.

As the resident Winnipeger, I think they're ok. Largely what I was expecting, but I can't find much to complain about. Unlike a lot of people on various online comment pages. I swear all of those people wouldn't be happy unless the team was exactly like it was 15 years ago.

Besides, I can't really find fault with an unveiling that has the players walking off a Hercules at 17 Wing.

FYI: The KHL's Opening Cup between Atlant Moscow and Salavat Yulaev is tomorrow in Ufa. The KHL's site is showing a 5 pm GMT face-off, although, you never can be sure that the translations are accurate.

Just one more sign that the Season of Hockey is upon us.

I don't expect it to be anything more than a status update and a Q&A, nor do the more credible members of the media.

I suspect Crosby will say he's progressing but not symptom free, that he doesn't have any timeline and he won't play until he's 100 per cent

Likelihood of hockey world-shaking news from Crosby on Wednesday is unlikely, I'm told. He simply will provide an update. #tribpens

That said, I don't expect him to be ready by October.
