NFL Talk - 2010-11 Season

Jerry Jones will probably pull in some guy off the street to pretend to coach and pay him league minimum.

Anyway, I'm over Vick. He did some awful things, he paid for his crime, and as long as he doesn't get in trouble again he should be able to do what he wants to. If it happens again, he should banned from the NFL for life though.

I think Jason Garrett has been Jerry Jones' pick to succeed Wade Phillips from the day he was hired.

This. Jones gave Garrett a deal worth $3 million annually to keep him from moving on to the Baltimore Ravens head coach position.

No, he didn't say Vick could do no wrong. But there are plenty of people who don't think it's so wonderful Vick got a chance to live his dream while so many struggle. There are people out there more deserving of positive attention. Obama's call was an error in judgment.
That is a subjective statement.

It's not like Vick did something easily forgivable -- like driving drunk and killing someone, then getting caught driving drunk again.

The Cowboys are hated in Washington, Philadelphia, and I presume New York. The amount of venom Philly fans have towards the Cowboys is not surpassed by any team in any sport. I think our second and third most famous "bad fan" stories were against the Cowboys.

^As a Broncos fan, I beg to differ. It doesn't matter how good Denver is or how bad Oakland it, the Raiders will always find a way to give us hell at least once a season. Annoying as hell.

No, but Leonard Little never got presidential calls congratulating his manager for keeping him in the NFL after he escaped charges for running over Susan Gutmeier. If the announcers waxed poetic like they wanted to blow Little every week and Bush had called about him, he'd have received the same negative attention that Vick does. Vick's in the spotlight. Thus, the attention good and bad.

The Raiders aren't nearly as scary when they struggle to win games.
It's not about the wins or losses, it's just that they are evil for the sake of being evil. Not like the beloved Broncos who are the very embodiment of all that is good and true in the world. And I post all of this without the slightest bit of bias. Nope, no bias at all. :p

I think your predominately orange pom-poms are obscuring your vision a touch.

Said as a second generation season ticket holder with a priority number below 10,000. :p

The next thing you'll be telling me is that the Broncos will not win the next superbowl. But we both know that's just silly. :)

Of course it's silly. The Broncos will win all the Super Bowls after this one, remember? :p

I think I'm going to be VERY ill. :scream:
And here I was going to say I was rooting for the Chiefs to take it all at this point.

Well it's just that I'm recalling the refs stopping play in the 97 playoff game in order to wipe off an illegal substance (some type of lubricant I think) off the Bronco's defensive lineman's jerseys. Not exactly "the "embodiment of all that is good and true in the world" wouldn't you say?

:p

As a Raiders hater, personally I'm glad that Al Davis is senile and incompetent because it trickles down to the team. Unlike Daniel Snyder (who apparently treats the Redskins like his own personal fantasy football team that would've been good had he assembled them three or four years EARLIER), the Raiders have a legitimate excuse for why they're bad... and they don't have to wait nearly as long for their owner to die before they can become good again.
