NFL Football 2009

I'm calling it now:

Jets - Vikings in the Super Bowl.

But if they lose today, I'll claim my account was hacked. ;)

New Orleans seems to be the healthiest team overall right now. Minnesota is probably without Percy Harvin, the Colts will be without Sanders and the other corner Powers, the Jets have a lot of banged up folks but I think everyone's probable for the game. The Saints OTOH have gotten guys back on the defensive secondary who were a big part of the long winning streak earlier.

Ooops... just checked and the Saints have Jeremy Shockey and Malcolm Jenkins listed as questionable for today.

ETA: Colts/Jets - Man are they flying fast today! This game looks as if it might just be decided on a turnover or on one outstanding play by the defense.

ETA: Now I'd love that Jets TD play if it had been someone other than Braylon Edwards. It's hard to cheer on someone who shut it down so pathetically for his former team, and gave such little effort. He's going to have to bust his butt a heckuva lot more before that memory can be erased.

I don't like the Jets quarterback. But I don't like the Colts owner either.

However, the Jets winning means the whole "Colts resting players against the Jets, ending the unbeaten season and not eliminating the Jets from postseason contention" story will never end. :)

Eh, I thought that was pretty much hammered down after the Colts beat the Ravens.

At this point, I just hope the jets can keep this going and come off with the win. As a Jets fan, I'm used to the get there and blow it in the last quarter history they have...

Not if the Jets win, because the Colts would've eliminated them in week 16.

The way the game is going today, you can'e be certain the Colts would have won even if they HAD played everyone that day. My point is the whole issue is so overblown by self-righteous blowhard sportswriters that it's laughable.

No matter how this game ends, the Jets have served notice that they are back an everyone else should be afraid. It's scary how well Sanchez has played this season... and he came out after his JUNIOR year of college. They may just be my team to root for next season. They have lots of excellent YOUNG talent even outside of him. Mangold is one of the best centers in the league. Shon Greene has proven himself to be a good back and with Thomas Jones they make a superb tandem at running. The defense is for my money the best in the league overall. Leonard is a rising star. Revis - we all know how good he is. If Edwards has turned a corner and grown up, they could well be a major force for years to come.

Now if they could just pull it together and win this one...:(

As a Patriots fan, I don't particularly like the Colts (though I do like Manning), but I hate the Jets, so this has been an excellent game for me. :D The first half was pretty surprising, but I'm not shocked that the Colts have completely taken over in the second half.

Still rooting for the Saints to win it all, though.
