NFL Football 2009

Yeah, the Cutler trade just isn't turning out quite the way the Bears and their fans expected. Orton, OTOH, has fit nicely into Denver. Not what anyone expected over the summer eh?

I really don't think Cutler is to blame for Chicago's struggles. He's thrown some picks, but he's not the one giving up 40 points a game. When you're down by a lot, and have to throw the ball, you'll force some throws and end up with picks.

Chicago's defensive problems, and Denver's strong defense probably have more to do with how Orton and Cutler have worked out than anything else.

Lots of interesting games today... Vikings lost to Steelers, which I kinda expected. Saints nearly lose to the Dolphins, which I did not see coming at all. Though, the Dolphins were trying their hardest to lose the game on their last drive with the bad penalties and the ugle dropped balls. Was rather shocked to see the Bengals light up the Bears though.
I'm not mad.

I'm very disappointed.
Wow... I haven't been that disappointed in a long time. :(

:p

I won't lie.... I got a ton of joy out of every single pick, fumble, and sack that I got to see Crybaby-Cutler take or lose today. I loved it. :D

I was actually sad to see Orton go. He's a great quarterback... I still think Chicago's biggest problem is running routes. A lot of plays just look like big failures.

Much of Chicago's defensive problems are injury related. No matter how overrated Urlacher may or may not be, he is an important part of that defense. Then you lose a second linebacker (forget the name) and Tommie Harris as well.... those types of problems add up after awhile.

And after the Niners' early season impertinence, proper order has been restored in the NFC West. :techman:

The Patriots are victorious at Wembley. They've won their last two games by a combined score of 94-7.

I wonder if the NFL plans this when they schedule the London game. I can see them picking a 'home' team that doesn't sell out regularly. But I wonder if there is any thought into lining up one of your better, more popular teams against a cupcake. Wasn't it the superbowl Giants over the 1-15 Phins a couple years back?

Playing Tennessee and Tampa makes any team look good. I don't think they'll beat Indy in a couple weeks though. But after that, their schedule is fairly soft. 12-4 would be nice this year.

I'm looking forward to watching the Patriots smoke the Jets next time they play.

It will be beautiful!:techman:

God they are so easy to hate...

Agreed. I can't stand that fat toad Cartman look-a-like of a coach they have. I wish he'd just shut up. His gums flap too much and his players are taking his lead.

Sure am glad Lovie started calling that defense this year. Big difference. Sure am glad Marinelli is working with that D-line. Big difference. Tillman couldnt cover a senior citizen. Pace only stops a rush if someone runs into his girth. Kreutz has been the most overrated center ever. All those fumbles with the QB's were his fault and now he cant snap a shotgun higher than the QB's ankles. Next year this team will be competing with Detroit for last. Cutler was a complete moran to sign with this organization.

The end of that Steelers/Vikings game was unreal. People were scoring all over the place. Too bad, Brett!

That was an outstanding win for the Cards, yesterday. Important game, on the road, against an excellent Giants team. The Cards owed that one maybe more to the defense than to the offense for once. That's what I call encouraging.

Dear Chicago Motherfucking Bears,

I couldn't even finish that bullshit. Fuck you. You are absolutely terrible. Thanks for the Grossman performance, the inability to run-block, the continuation of Lovie Smith's useless "Mugs Up" defense, and everything about you that I absolutely despise. I would say that I hope this blowout makes you realize you are fucking terrible, but I know that isn't the case. You're just going to try the same bullshit you did next week and fail harder. Have fun, Vikings, the division belongs to you.

Fuck you very much,
Tim

It's got to be tough for you as a Titans fan to go through such a violent shift in fortune. What's the general feeling about Fisher's future with the team?

That to get rid of Fisher would be a knee jerk reaction. That comment by Bud Adams last week was just such. Fisher is the least of the problem. You will find that rare voice who says, "Yeah, Fisher should go at this point" but I can't stress the sparsity of those type voices. Most of the talk is about how the lack of performance by the talent on the field is where the blame lies and I don't disagree.

Some front office decions should be looked at also.
Was it worth not giving Haynesworth a few more million now? You can't prove his physical condition that occured in D.C. would've happened here. By getting rid of him it exposed so much talent error.
We have no one who rushes the line like Albert could, therefore QB's have more pocket time. This exposes our corners who can't cover. Who evaluated these guys again? Who are our talent scouts? The GM again, what role does he play. Sure Fisher has some input but its not his ball of wax at the start.

We don't have an easy schedule, no one stands out as a cupcake game. We were 13-3 last year and got the corresponding schedule that ensues such a record. If Jeff can show a good reorganization during this bye week, make some midseason trades and get 2-4 wins I'll be happy. The man only has I think 2 losing seasons in 12yrs so to up and get rid of him would be foolish. If that sentiment changes I'll post it.

Re: The Chiefs Suck

The Kansas City Chiefs Suck.

And it pisses me off.

That is all.

I'm not sure "suck" is a strong enough word to describe the level this team has sunk to. Just when you thought, maybe, just maybe, you're starting to see some little glimmer of hope, BOOM, along comes this abortion of game they played yesterday vs San Diego.

Good God, why did I ever become a Chiefs fan? :( :klingon:

Cutler isn't the problem. The Bears' current offensive line couldn't stop a rush of senior citizens hitting the buffet line, let alone an NFL defense. Their defense just looked dazed and confused the past couple of games as well. I quote a Chicago Tribune writer:

They gave Ochocinco so much cushion, he'll have a sofa endorsement deal by the end of business hours Monday.

Not many teams are going to win with those kinds of deficiencies.

What is going on with Matt Forte? He was so good last year but this year it's like the offense is afraid to use him. Is it an Offensive line issue (Kinda like what is going on in San Francisco) or what? I'm almost close to benching him in fantasy if he keeps up this non-play.
