So $8 million and a second round pick is what the Raiders forked over for eight games of Hall.

Once upon a time, signing with the Raiders was the same as selling your soul to the devil. You're going to a loser with no hope of winning, but at least you'll get paid. Now you won't even get that.

Who in their right mind would come to Oakland now except for washed up players?

I think Kellen Winslow should get Denver's game ball tonight.

Offensive pass interference, fumble, - 14 points for Denver

ball through his hands on 4th and 1 - ball game.

Damn! I have seen every game this season... and of the last six games (2-4) I have missed both games Denver won! That's okay, at least they won! This has been a good day for all my sports teams!

It's already a good weekend for my FF squad. 63 points from Eddie Royal and Jay Cutler combined. My opponent is probably banging his head into his desk.

^Definately! I can't see what my Yahoo numbers look like yet, but in my ESPN league, I'm already up to 65 points! I have the Cutler/ Marshall/ Royal combo on both teams. I knew there was a reason I didn't drop any of those guys (well, other than the fact that no one else is available  )! :D

Managed to get a couple of tickets for the Vikings/Packers game. They're good seats (11th row), so for once I won't be sitting at the top of the dome struggling to see what's happening on the field.

Getting seats down low is always cool. The last pro game I attended was a Giants/Seahawks game in the Kingdome. We got fourth row seats at about the 30 yard line right behind the Giants bench. It was an awesome experience.

I will not be watching the Lions this week because the game will be blacked out in my area. The team sucks, so no one shows up at the game, which means no one will watch at all now. Unless you live in DC, you won't be seeing Detroit this week. You all should be happy.

It's ever the downward spiral for that franchise it seems.

What is the point of this? It's like Coke not selling enough soda pop so to help the situation they decide to stop advertising it. Just seems like a vicious circle that I just can't see working in any positive manner.

I'm watching the Jets game.

Wow. The Rams really suck.

I'm glad they're in our division: One less actual team to worry about.

It's an NFL rule. No sellout means no local market TV coverage permitted.

In theory it prompts additional ticket sales to people who can't see the game at home. I guess if you're a diehard Lions fan, this might encourage you to drop a few bucks to watch them lose again.

I think the purpose behind the rule is good, although I question how effective it is. That's a little difficult since the situation doesn't arise very often.

It just seems that if your team can't sell out due to disinterest that not showing them on TV will do very little to rekindle it.

The problem isn't that people aren't interested in the Lions. Just in my daily life, I run into a lot of people who comment on their ineptitude. It's just that the product on the field is so terrible no one wants to pay money to show up. Just look at today. They're down 38-7. They're about to go 0-9 on the year. Who wants to watch that?

I do kind of enjoy the schadenfraude of it all, I wanted to see the debut of Culpepper to the whole debacle not that your point isn't lost on me. However, why don't we allow the stations to decide whether or not there is enough interest to show the game instead of banning it outright from airing?

Next time I'm going to go blow $100 and go out in the cold to go see them at the stadium if it's blacked out, oh wait, no I'm not. Has anyone actually bought tickets just because the game was blacked out?

EDIT: According to NFL.com, Stanton was put in and scored I would have liked to have seen that.

Wow, the Texans just got dismantled.

4 interceptions so far, two by Ray, one by Ngata and one by Rolle coming off neck surgery. And they actually capitalized off most of them!

41-13 Ravens. 4-game winning streak, 3 in a row on the road. I have no experience dealing with that.

eta: Crap. I just realized I now have to root for the Colts over the Steelers.

Hate the Metrodome, hate the Vikes and I hate that the Pack lost, but I still had a great time at the game. If I could figure out how to do pics on the new board, I'd put a few up.
