NFL Discussion - 2013 Season

The Texans have named Case Keenum their Week 7 starting quarterback against the Chiefs.

Case Keenum is going to die on the field.

Obligatory: "Who??" I've literally never heard this name before today and I follow the NFL pretty closely.

He's never played a down in the NFL, but anyone who follows college football would know Keenum as holding the records for career passing yards and career touchdowns. The dude lit up defenses when he was playing for UH.

He's a small quarterback who went undrafted last year out of the University of Houston and signed with the Texans.

Keenum is an "Air Raid"-type quarterback, on a team whose passing schema is demonstrably compromised, playing a team whose D-line spends most of its time in the opposing backfield. He is going to get murdered on live television.

Pretty much this. The type of offense he is being asked to lead is a complete 180 from what he ran in college.

Keenum will throw for 5000 yards against the Chiefs, and the Texans will win 1000 - 0. And after we win the next 10 Super Bowls in a row, yall will change your tune. :D

But can he break the Pick-6 streak??

At least the QB situation with the Texans will be settled today. Either Case Keenum is the new face of the Texans, or they're going to have to draft a new QB. Schaub and Yates aren't cutting it.

I gotta admit, I was worried that Brady was going to figure out a way to win that game again. The only game this season they've won by more than a touchdown was Tampa, and they had "fourth quarter comeback wins" by a field goal in three of the four other wins.

A win is a win. So long a they are winning, I'm happy. And when they win over the pats, I'm having a good day.;)

At his point, I think sanchez is done, smith is securing his seat as the field leader of the team.

Tight win for the Chiefs this afternoon, really I would have expected us to dominate more. But a W is a W.

Cowboys take the lead in the NFC East. Matt Barkley's debut could have gone better. Three picks.

I didn't think he looked that bad. Sure, the picks, but it was a lot of gunslinging with that playcalling. He had a few nice throwns.

But then of course, I'm always nervous Cowboys will find a way to lose, no matter the advantage. I was never nervous in the fourth quarter, yesterday.

Barkley responded pretty poorly when pressured by the pass rush. Nice to see the Cowboys actually try and stick with a running game for once as well.

Brandon Carr is starting to really earn his paycheck too. Shutting down Pierre Garcon and Desean Jackson in consecutive weeks was huge. He'll have Megatron next week though.

Well, our season is over.

You can tell by the "talking about Tebow" stories on the web today.

:scream:

:brickwall:

Five players got knocked out for the remainder of the season yesterday:

Reggie Wayne
Doug Martin
Brian Cushing
Jermichael Finley
Sam Bradford

Cutler might join that list too. An NBC Chicago reporter snapped a phone pic of him in the trainer's area and it looked like his groin injury was a lot more serious than he was letting on when he walked off the field.

Oh, and Brandon Merriweather is a douche who needs to be fired before he paralyzes someone on the field by launching his helmet at theirs. Again.

The Texans are out of it for this season, there is no hope for them. But I am used to failure. I was an Oilers fan before I was a Texans fan. Crappy mismanaged teams are a Houston staple in pro sports.

Yeah, I definitely don't remember winning two world championships in the NBA when I lived in Houston in the mid-90's.
