NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

In the current NFL, RBs are considered fungible because of how frequently they get hurt.
Is CFB even capable of producing another Walter Payton or Barry Sanders level RB? The LSU & Clemson RB's were the last decent ones I remember coming out of college.

I think the real answer, which is admittedly a thing of nuance, is that, no, you're not going to see a Terrell Davis or Walter Payton anytime again soon, because modern NFL offenses are tailored to using every trick in the book and they're back to "three yards and a cloud of dust" philosophy with their running backs (see: David Montgomery), and defenses are cheating against the run and preferring to allow a ton of yards through the air (you can see this in the inflation of QB passing yards over the last decade or so).

I think Nick Chubb is getting slept on in this discussion - he’s an outstanding runner of the football. In general, though, the most effective RBs are expected to be legitimate weapons in the passing game. Think CMC and Kamara types. It’s why you’ll see Bijan Robinson get drafted HIGH in fantasy this year.

I'm sure I say this every year, but draft grades and/or 'winners and losers' is such a dumb thing. Yet, batring a big trade, it's going to be the bulk of NFL content for the next several weeks.

Mel Kiper said he'd retire if Jimmy Claussen wasn't a successful NFL QB after eight years, and yet Kiper is still here.

It's all a big circle jerk, where many "experts" -- especially the ones with zero access to any college or pro teams -- only read what other "experts" write.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said that the team hasn't decided whether or not to pick up Jordan Love's fifth-year option yet.

So if he sucks in what is essentially his first full rookie season, he's SOL.

Not a great PR look, Green Bay.

They made their bed when they let Rodgers dictate policy. On that alone I hope they suck for the next 10 years.

So Rodgers complains for years that the Packers don't draft him any weapons to throw to. As soon as he gets traded away, they draft two TE and three WR.

At least my Texans are seemingly headed in a good direction after this draft and getting DeMeco Ryans as their new HC. We shall see. I've been watching pro football in Houston since the early Oilers days, and am usually either disappointed, or, I'm waiting for next year 'cause it's gonna be so good. LOL

I predict the Texans will go from a 3 win season to quite possibly a 6 or 7 win season this year.
