NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

I probably asked this before, in last years thread, but is the lack of a fourth preseason game contributing to some of the general sloppiness we see in the first few weeks as the teams try to jel/get dialed in? Watching the highlights there seemed to be a lot of missed cues.

Is it the lack of the 4th preseason game, or is it the lack of real contact in training camp added to the fact that most guys making above the league minimum are only playing one or two series in preseason, if any.

Broncos need a new kicker. “Dude, you have ONE JOB!!!”

Anthony Richardson had his ups and downs in his debut - mostly ups though. Colts lost but have every reason to be hopeful for the future if Richardson is developed properly.

Tua scorched the field in LA - nearly 500 passing yards. If he can stay healthy, look out.

Our two rookie QBs battle each other this coming Sunday. I think both of the QBs have a ton of promise. I think Texans defense might be slightly ahead of yours at this time, at least along the d-line. It will be an interesting game. :)

Not looking forward to this one. I think Richardson had the best performance of the 3 rookie QBs, but going on the road in a divisional encounter makes me nervous. There'll be growing pains this season, I have no illusions about that... I just hope AR doesn't suffer too much physical pain. I agree that Houston's defense is probably better than Indy's, but Indy has more talent on the offense. How about another tie like last year?

Aaron Rodgers hurt after four plays. Zach Wilson is still the QB on the Jets' next possession. Rodgers is questionable to return.

Per Ian Rapoport, while Rodgers is getting an MRI tomorrow, the current belief among the team is that he ruptured his Achilles tendon.

If that turns out to be the case, I imagine that has to be a career for him. I know modern sports medicine is crazy, but that's a hell of an injury to come back from if your name's not Kevin Durant.

Edit: Wait, it's Rodgers. Modern sports medicine can’t save him, but knowing him, he'll make a three-month voyage to a remote shaman in the depths of the Kenyan savannah who will stab him with a dagger made from the congealed blood of 5,000 hippopotamuses.

Obviously the secret formula for using ivermectin to heal the Achilles tendon is on Hunter Biden's laptop.

That is either tough luck or a cursed franchise for the Jets. 4 plays into his time as a Jet and the season is over. So much hype for nothing.

I do hope he recovers, but the timing makes it all feel like a big joke.

Is that really necessary?

ESPN sources are saying it is indeed a torn Achilles tendon and Rodgers is out for the season.

And you're just loving it, aren't you? The needless implosion of a once-great athlete's career?

Having another "bad day", are ye?
I mean, it's a competitive field and not everyone would cheer on all athletes. Timby's not alone in going "That's it." For Rogers.

Doubt it's indicative of a "bad day."

 You missed it.

And besides, just no. As much as I hated Tom Brady, I NEVER would have wished him harm and gleefully dancing about pronouncing, "His career is OVER!" I just wanted him to flame-out under the weight of his own ego and retire considerably sooner than he did. Or did he? :shifty:

In any case, I find it to be a profoundly tasteless thing to say. Totally predictable, too.
