"The Professor" John Clayton longtime ESPN football analyst and KIRO sports radio host died earlier this evening after a brief illness.

I'm in shock, I just heard him the other day talking about the Russell Wilson trade. He was one of the best in the business.

That's heart breaking. I will miss him on 710 ESPN Seattle. :(:weep:

RIP Mr. Clayton. I always enjoyed your analysis of the NFL.

Texan fans are rejoicing. Watson is someone else's burden now.

Falcons trade Matt Ryan to Colts for a 3rd round pick.

Falcons sign Marcus Mariota to a 2-year deal.

Saints give Jameis Winston a 2-year, $28 million contract.

Only one of those I really like is Mariota to the Falcons.

So where does all that leave Baker Mayfield?

I’d take a flyer on him in Miami as a backup to Tua. Though we already signed Bridgewater.

Giants or Lions? Panthers as a dark horse?

There's also Jimmy Garoppolo out there looking for a team.

Al Michaels is moving to Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football. Kirk Herbstreit will join him in the booth.

Mike Tirico will take over Michaels' previous role on Sunday Night Football.

I'd take him over David Blough that we keep re-signing for some reason.

For "Joe Buck money", not that Joe Buck is worth anything. They really are diluting the sports broadcast landscape even more.

I wonder if the NFL network will become obsolete.

Saints OT Terron Armstead gets five-year, up to $87.5 million deal with the Dolphins.

Packers OLB Za'Darius Smith to the Vikings for three years, $42 million. He had earlier agreed to a four-year, $35 million contract with the Ravens but didn't sign it.

RB Leonard Fournette stays in Tampa for three years, $21 million.

OL Fred Johnson was waived by the Bengals less than an hour after signing.

There's been a lot of backing out of agreements this year. Has something changed?

Dolphins trade for Tyreek Hill. This offseason is nuts.

Now Miami has Hill, Waddle, Mostert, and Edmonds. Ridiculous speed all round. All they need is for Tua to prove he's got it.

Not so much the trade, but the 4 year $120M extension.

Lotsa money being spent this off-season. Not by my Bears of course, but by teams that want to win.

The trade for Watson ended up being Houston getting a 1st and 4th round pick this year, a 1st and a 3rd next year, and a 1st and a 4th in 2024. We sent Cleveland our 2024 6th round pick.

Hey! We dodged the guy with 22 sexual assault complaints against him for the guy with a domestic violence conviction and child abuse investigations in his background.

    GO DOLPHINS!!!
