NFL 2020 Season: We're gonna bite a kneecap off

I believe he's stated he'll only take a starting job, and you won't get an offer if nobody can see what you've got left in the tank.

I don’t believe he’s ever stated that, because he had talks with Seattle in 2017, and Pete Carroll said it was a mistake to not sign him. There was no way he was in play to be Seattle’s starter with Russell Wilson on the roster.

Here's a couple 2017 stories that point to him wanting more money than he would have been worth, with mentions about wanting a starter's role.

Graziano might have been talking out of his ass, or maybe he was right on, relating to Kapernick's insistence he be a starter.

Just saw that! He used to be really good, but then again, so was Joe Flacco, once upon a time. Should be interesting to see how that one pans out.

A one year incentive laden contract is a good way to see what Cam has left. He's been injured so many times in recent years.

I wonder if Belichick uses him as a true QB instead of a running QB.

Cam will be interesting. Don't love it, but it's for basically no money, and he'll be hungry to prove he can do it still so he can land a new gig, had time off to heal up, etc... He was very good, and recently, so given the option of turning it over to a rookie when training camp is going to be very limited this year, not a bad choice. Worst case, can push Stidham and be a better backup than Hoyer, or he starts and Stidham takes over if he doesn't pan out. Either way, for the price, worth the gamble I guess.

Is the 23 year old FedExField no longer to their liking? I see the issues that the current stadium has with design and transportation to and from.

The Redskins seem content with a poor to average team, we'll see how stubborn Snyder is now though if he really wants to go back to D.C.

Snyder is superlatively stubborn, but if he thinks not changing the name will finally start to significantly impact his bottom line, I think he will soon cave.

Snyder’s probably hoping FedEx would attempt to initiate a breech of contract over all this. He probably has all his attorneys lined up on contingency for that very thing.

I'm seeing that there was a 27 year, $205M naming rights deal done in 1998, thru 2025. Do you suppose there's an out clause FedEx can use?

I doubt FedEx would breach their contract, considering the CEO is a Redskins minority owner.

If the FedEx CEO basically sides with Snyder, could the FedEx board pull a John Schnatter on him?

I wonder if the naming contract has clauses like, say, pro sports players have, so if they do something that reflects badly on the team, they can be cut. There's a term for it I just can't remember and I'm gonna feel stupid when someone reminds me. A "morals clause" maybe?
