NFL 2020 Season: We're gonna bite a kneecap off

No surprise there. Does anyone ever actually watch it? Kind of in the same class with the Pro Bowl. A big bunch of meh, but that’s me. YMMV.

Are any teams really interested, or is the media or his agent making it up? The guy is still, a) an average QB at best, b) all about his own agenda, c) a distraction.

Roger Goodell literally said that a team should sign him. And even after a few years out of the game, he'd still be better than Mitch "Tittie Kisser" Trubisky.

You called Kap an average quarterback. QED.

And? He's still the other two things I said, plus Goodell is no doubt paying lip service.

Trubisky either sees the ghost of Ryan Leaf and makes it happen, or we see what Foles has left in the tank.

We have a lot more problems on offense than Trubisky tho. The O-Line, Nagy's playcalling, Nagy's inability to use a RB. I still think even Brady couldn't help much with all the other issues.

Which is still better than a lot of QB's currently on rosters.

b) all about his own agenda

Most folks are.

c) a distraction

This simply hasn't been proven. And would be even less so now, because a lot of the players and coaches have said they will be taking knees during the anthem this season, with the NFL's blessing.

So there's no real reason for teams to not be lining up to sign him based on your criteria above.

From a personal perspective, three years is a long time to be out of the game. If I was running a team, I'd definitely have him in for a workout, but the gap would be in the back of my mind and I would wonder even if the physical skills were there, if he could catch back up to the speed of the game.

The backup quarterback of the Detroit Lions is Chase Daniel. I have no doubt that Kaepernick is at worst an equal QB to him. But he probably doesn't fit the mini-New England mindset Patricia and Quinn are still trying to ram into place when it has worked so well other places in the past.

Probably so, but...

Most folks are.

IDK. To that extent? He was most likely all about the message in the beginning, but he's made it all about himself since. The refusal to take a backup job despite only being average. The game playing relating to the workouts.

And yeah, the 3 years out of the game. He may be in decent overall shape, but not NFL gameday shape. But who could know since he hasn't been willing to just show up and work out for anybody?

Wasn’t something set up for him last year by the NFL to help him place with a team and he went off to do his own thing the same weekend? I have a vague recollection of something weird like that happening.

No one offered him anything, he was black balled by the league.
