NFL 2019 Season

The Texans escaped their bye week without a loss and ended up in 1st place in the AFC South. LOL

Steelers manage to lose to the Browns, plus Myles Garrett is as good as out for the season, if not the rest of time.

Should be a lifetime ban for this shit.

Watch this version to get a better, fuller understanding of what went on. There is no excuse for Garrett's losing his cool like that, but Rudolph was a large part of it

You need to remove the space between the slashes, then copy and paste in another window. It does contain footage from the snap of the ball, the initial scrum, Rudolph trying to pull off Garrett's helmet, and then the brouhaha

Yeah, hate him playing the victim card when he was big into the whole thing. Yeah, Garrett brought the gun to the knife fight, and is definitely porked, but Rudolph wasn't exactly kneeling in prayer between downs. Any punishment that goes big on the Browns and ignores the Steelers is a bit of bs.

Plus, even though the Steelers are pretty much irrelevant this year, as a Pats fan I don't mind having them get spanked anyway. ;)

Not to mention whoever was kicking Garrett in the head when after he went down.

Surely a lot of suspensions and fines coming.

Nope, Rudolph was definitely the victim here.

You've crossed the line when you bring a weapon into things and try to splatter somebody's brains. Rudolph was apparently trying to pull off Garrett's helmet but he didn't try to beat him in the head with it. He hits him right, in the temple say, and Rudolph is comatose or dead. Ban him for the rest of the season.

Pouncey needs a long suspension too, he didn't have a weapon and the whole "protecting the QB" thing is drilled into centers, but likewise he had no excuse for kicking a man when he's down.

No argument that Garrett went way over the top and is in real trouble. But if I punch you and then you shoot me, you escalating it doesn't mean I wasn't doing shit too. That's all I was saying there. Suspend Garrett for a long time, but don't paint Rudolph as a saint...

The NFL will be looking at a lot of tape (for a few days probably). No doubt they'll catch every fineable offense.

Two teams going nowhere aren't going to miss a few guys each.

"Indefinite" ban for Garrett. Rest of this season (including playoffs...seriously???) and will have to meet with the commish next year.

Story

The NFL also suspended Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi one game for pushing Rudolph in the back to the ground shortly after Garrett had slugged the Steelers quarterback in the head with the helmet.
Pittsburgh center Maurkice Pouncey, who jumped into Garrett, kicking and punching him after Rudolph had been struck, was suspended three games.

Cleveland was trying to do their best Bungles impersonation.

Blaming Rudolf is like blaming someone that got murdered because a fight broke out and the one that got murdered slapped someone before he got murdered. Rudolf "tried" to pull someone's helmet off... that warrants getting pummeled?

This one shows the whole thing.

They are all idiots, but Garrett completely lost it. I'm guessing Rudolf has a thick scull. That could have been MUCH worse; he could have been seriously or critically injured. That helmet was being used as a weapon.

Myles Garrett: "I was just trying to help put his helmet back on."

Rudolf - 1 game (for being an idiot)
Garrett - the rest of the season? ...
Ref - 2 games for not getting there quicker. If that were Brady or Rogers or Wilson getting thrown down and tackled late like that (that ball was way gone in today's NFL), that ref would have been the cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich before it melted. He literally has nothing else to do.

It's interesting that the rule "in the book" says 15-yard penalty, and Garrett gets suspended from the game.

I'm guessing the NFL will levy more than that.

The Browns kicked our asses all night... Maybe the Browns are starting to play like everyone thought they would before the season started. Lots of talent on that team.

Garrett has anger management issues he needs to resolve. In addition, apparently Rudolph's camp in looking into it as a criminal matter.

Completely agree.

Good. Rudolph wasn't blameless but Garret went way to far, in my opinion. Everything about that situation was out of control.

ETA: NFL is pulling videos too. Damage control mode activate.

Hope Tua Tagovailoa has insurance...

Now, Tagovailoa’s injury could put his entire football career in jeopardy. Dr. David J. Chao (also known as Pro Football Doc) details the potential ramifications for the San Diego Union-Tribune. Dr. Chao clarifies that the injury is not identical to Bo Jackson‘s career-ending injury, but is a comparison that is sure to be made. In his previous experience as a former NFL team doctor, Chao recalls one experience with this injury. The player returned in eight weeks, but retired at the end of the season.
