NFL 2019 Season

Eh, just bought a draft pick

I think it is pretty dumb to pay millions for a fifth-round draft pick. Though that is just me.

I do wonder if Brian Flores has looked around the league at all the coaches that went 1-15 or 0-16 in their first season to see whose still around?

To be fair, Dolphins are a dumpster fire. As to the Flores question, kinda stupid to fire him when they were intentionally tanking. But then again, dumpster fire

I don't know that I'd fire him. But coaches who have a 1-15 record on their card, usually aren't around to see those high draft picks mature.

Well, my Steelers lucked out. I guess Vinatieri doesn't care too much to kicking the laces :guffaw:

Really entertaining game.

4&4 at the halfway point. Could have been much worse.

The officiating has been horrible... honestly, I don't know how the refs are supposed to do it.

Loving the Fitzpatrick pick up from the Dolphins (3 pics in 2 games with one being a pic-6). Looks like it was worth giving up next year's 1st round pick.

We also picked up the other Edmunds (Conner and Snell are nicked up). Now we have a set of brothers on the team. He ran really well for us yesterday.

Oh, and God Bless the Ravens.... (the only time I root for them )

... and one more thing...

Jeff Epstein did not kill himself
:D

I don't mind the Pats loss. Ravens are goodm, Jackson looks pretty promising. Mostly, it'll be a good teachable moment for Belichick to use, don't get too high on yourself, you're not invincible, etc. Having it happen in November is a hell of a lot better than believing it's impossible going into a game in February. Should help rededicate them a little, plus it's a good primer for any potential rematch if that comes up.

I'd have rather they won, but plenty of hay to be made with the loss as well. And Ravens are good/played well, so no shame there either. Nice that they've now got the bye week too, so Belichick gets two weeks to beat on them before they go back out there.

My Colts lost to the supposedly hapless Dolphins. I realize things are going to be disrupted when your backup QB (who was the 3rd string guy in the summer) is playing, but jeez.

I keep trying to tell myself that it's not SO embarrassing, after all the Dolphins have been steadily improving their level of play for weeks and this is really a testament to the great job the coaching staff is doing down there, but I can never complete the thought before I start to laugh at myself for even trying to rationalize it.

It's sad to see Vinatieri like this. The 2019 Colts season is truly the year of one great player retiring too early, and one great player retiring too late.

That was a bit of a shocker yesterday. Didn't see that coming at all. If Miami isn't careful, they might have a problem getting top-picks in next year's draft.

I'm not upset about this at ALL. If Coach Flores can instill a sense of team pride and determination with the cast-offs, scrubs, and unheralded rookies that he has assembled, what could he do with some quality youngsters?

They have FIVE picks in the first two rounds!
They have 13 - 15 picks overall.
Sure they may not get Tua - but they might get Jalen Hurst, or Burrows, or etc... or they can invest in key position players, the sky is the limit.
If the 'Fins can win with THIS collection of nobodies, what could they do with ACTUAL talent?
