NFL 2019 Season

Now THAT is the way to shut Khalil Mack's mouth. Never occurred to him (and many others) that the Raiders might actually be a better team without him. One of the biggest things for the Raiders was having played a game in London last season. Unlike last season, they didn't treat it like just any other game like the Bears did. They arrived a week early and got acclimated. The Bears looked dazed in that first half.

Great game plan, which was simply, "knock the shit out of them." Can't say enough about our O-line. Not only did they bust up the Bears very good defensive front, they protected the hell out of Carr. Is Richie Incognito that good? Because his mental mistakes had my head spinning.

We got 3 first rounders from the Mack, Coop trade. One of those picks netted us Josh Jacobs, who I think, was the first running back taken in the draft. He looked great, but then so did all of our backs.

All in all, a great win, biggest in 2 1/2 years. We're 3-2 and in second in the division.

Nagy fucked the Bears by insisting on not traveling until Thursday night. The entire team was absolutely zonked.

They name the sacrificial lamb... er, interim head coach yet?
Yes. According to local news site WTOP, it will be O-line coach Bill Callahan. I love the bullshit oozing out of this official statement from the front office:
“Through the first five games of the 2019 season, the team has clearly not performed up to expectations, and we all share in that responsibility,” the team said in a statement. “Moving forward, we are committed to doing all that we can collectively as an organization to turn things around and give our Redskins fans and alumni a team they can be proud of in 2019 and beyond.”
An absolute lie! Dan Fuckface Snyder has never taken responsibility for anything he's done with regard to that team, and nothing goes out to the press like this without his rubber stamp on it because he's a textbook Napoleonic control freak. Under his 20 years of "leadership", they only got close to any kind of championship was 2015, with flash-in-the-pan RG-III. Everything else has been soul-crushing disappointment.

Was it only that? It seemed like they were playing a prevent defense that, as usual, wasn't preventing anything.

Just now catching up on the weekend...

Chiefs knocked off by the Colts, in KC? Defensive Coordinators starting to figure out Patrick Mahomes? Or is Andy Reid turning back into a coaching pumpkin?

Congrats to the Raiders on knocking off the Bears. Though it is a long season, and I wouldn't let 3-2 go to my head.

My AFC pick for the Super Bowl has crashed and burned. Thanks Chargers!

And the best thing this weekend... Miami didn't lose. Thank the football gods for the bye week.

I guess that now puts the Skins squarely at the bottom of the League at 0-5, tied in profound worthlessnes with the Cincy Bungles. The Jets are also still technically at the bottom with 0-4 but like Miami, they too have been numerically saved that dubious honor with an early bye in week 4.

We (Washington at Miami) get to tangle next week to decide who is worse! :techman:

Heh...can't wait. Maybe Callahan can wake them up...but I doubt it. That team really needs to be rebuilt top-down. Both teams do, really.

Let the battle of the mediocre commence! :ouch:

The winner is actually the loser, losing valuable spots in the draft order.

You’re right. At this point, they should both forfeit the rest of the season so they can keep their perfect losing records.

And that was only one of the ways Nagy and his staff were out coached. How often do the Bears get out hit? Gruden had the Raiders ready play.

3-2 isn't going to my head, we still have 3 more road games before returning home, but the way our O-line and D-line have been playing just might. There was one running play where the Bears' Akiem Hicks got walked at least 5 yards straight back by one of our guards. You don't see that too often in the NFL.

When you're winning match ups like that in the trenches eventually good things are going to happen.

The Titans have signed ex-Bears doinker kicker Cody Parkey to replace their just axed clanker kicker Cairo "4 misses" Santos.

All the pieces are in place in Tennessee.

I read on Twitter this morning that it's now cheaper to go to a Fins game that it is to go to the Miami Zoo. I shouldn't laugh because the price of NFL tickets is criminally absurd. But it's still kinda funny.

Depends on the team and their success level. For example, back in the 80's, the only way you could get a Redskins season ticket is to have it bequeathed to you in a will. Back then, there was a multi-season backlog of tickets. These days, however, you couldn't give them away.

Couldn't care less about pro basketball, but I'm quite curious to see how this NBA/China thing is going to pan out. Between the recent Rockets GM Daryl Morey pro-Hong Kong tweets and last week's South Park episode, a very uncomfortable light has been suddenly pointed in the direction of corporate collusion with Chinese authorities - something that's been going on for nearly 2 decades. China banned a bunch of NBA events as a result, starting with Rockets games, along with removing every single reference to SP on their isolated internet, and may take the conversation into a new and even more uncomfortable direction. It amuses me. :)

It’s comical just how little confidence Bellicheck has in his current kicker. He’s going for 4th and long inside the 30 consistently.

I don’t blame him. I remembered how some minimized the Patriots’ first few super bowl wins because they won on a field goal.

Dude's been a coach for more than two decades and people still can't spell "Belichick." Jesus. :p
