Even less. Olatunde Osunsanmi is male.

I suppose you could add Doctor Octopus to that list who for decades was a mass murdering supervillain but has since been reinvented as a hero called 'Superior Spider-Man' and now resides in a cloned body of Peter Parker.

Add Doctor Who's The Master/Missy, Star Wars's Darth Vader (though he's an enforcer), various Cylons in Battlestar Galactica. It's not an uncommon trope.

Most of the show's directors are male, but I guess a quarter-to-a-third of the directors being female is just too much for you, isn't it?

I'm of the opinion that until cops stop shooting down blacks just because they can since the "justice" system will let them get away with it, no one should ever say anything about "reverse racism". "I felt like my life was in danger" my ass.

I think the "prefers women directors" thing goes back to comments made by Robert Duncan McNeill, who'd approached DSC producers about directing.

If we don't stop them now, they'll start driving cars and becoming doctors!

The horror! Last time I've heard, these hew-mons have started forcing their females to wear clothes! What has this world come to?

... no, I keep trying to imagine the people saying these things as Ferengi, but it somehow never makes them any less infuriating.

Good on Robert Duncan McNeill for supporting the push for diversity, but it's not like they haven't been hiring white male directors. Looking at all the male directors so far, out of the twelve, ten to eleven of them are white men (the only one I couldn't confirm was David Barrett). So the ratio of white male directors to everyone else among Discovery's directors is 2 to 1.

I think Kpnuts is going to have to try harder on his whole "Diversity is bad" opinions.

Yes, straight white male characters are the only ones that matter to some people. Lack of these type of characters is the source of hatred toward Discovery from these dudes. So Stamets doesn’t count but Pike should and now he is gone.

Stamets, Anderson, Spock and Sarek were neither idiots nor evil, and Pike was held up as the exemplar of Starfleet values.

Meanwhile, Landry - a non-white female - was possibly the dumbest and among the most unprincipled of the lot, in both universes.

I think Anderson might be stretching it.

I agree with the rest. Though those who have an axe to grind would point out Spock and Sarek were aliens and not representative of white men.

Well, the complaint was about "casting white men", so not only should they count, but so should Saru!
