News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Well, didn't Roddenberry imply Kirk was bi-sexual in the TMP novelization? This isn't exactly new.
It showed that he was in denial. Which is basically the same as saying he kind of was.

Kirk/Spock Slash existed for a reason. But, given how many women Kirk kissed in TOS, and given that he regards the Enterprise as "she", and even says in "The Naked Now", "now I know why [the Enterprise] is called she", if he's bi, then he leans a lot more straight. On a scale of 0 (completely heterosexual) to 6 (completely homosexual), I don't think he's any more than a 1 on the Kinsey Scale. Maybe, maybe a 2.

KIrk's appearance in SNW is inevitable.

All things considered, it's probably a good idea, and one they shouldn't wait too long on.

These shows aren't created in a vacuum of commercial considerations and expectations. It's hard to imagine the folks who managed STD viewing putting Kirk on SNW as anything other than an unalloyed opportunity, so just let them do it reasonably well - they more than managed that with the introduction of Pike and the Enterprise.

I don't think that they will change Captain James T. Kirk into a female.
I do see he has a sister and she also a captain, command her own starship.
