New WETA Collectibles

Because you want everything you buy to be as it's supposed to be, not just a few. ;)

Quality standards are dropping in so many things these days but I still have certain expectations when I spend my money.

There's another site, Doctor Who Merchandise, based in the US, that's listed on the Underground Toys site, as "where to shop".

There's also
Who North America. I've bought from there several times, and they have a pretty good selection, and decent prices.

I've ordered from Who North America 2 or 3 times, and haven't had any problems with them. The prices aren't bad compared to other places, and the shipping is really quick!

Cool.

Saw these on a press release on forbiddenplanet.com here in the uk.

Theyre pretty awsome, ive seen the Tom Baker Fourth in a Model Zone store in london, it was Weta but it didnt have the option hatless head though but it had his sonic screwdriver.

The likeness to Baker is striking though.

I got myself a TARDIS yesterday. :)

I had to get the flight control with the three figures (10th, Martha and series one RAF Capt Jack) because no-one had just the TARDIS itself.

Since I already have a 10th in trench coat, I gave the extra to a friend and left Martha and Jack in the box. I didn't want either of them either, especially since Jack didn't have his sonic blaster and the 10th didn't have his screw driver. Shame they couldn't be arsed to but those two tiny pieces of painted rubber in the set but oh well, I really just wanted the TARDIS. ;)

Can't wait to get my hands on Tom and Colin's figures. They're still not in the stores yet though one chain here says they have them at the main warehouse.

Got myself the talking 4th Doc and K9 figures (as seen here) yesterday. Awfully overpriced, and the sound-chip/speakers sound like something from last century, but still a great likeness.

So, that boxset is worth it? Just or the TARDIS? I've been thinking about trying to find one, myself.

And have they ever produced a Torchwood-likeness Captain Jack?

I don't think so. I'd much rather have had just the TARDIS, minus the figures. I already had a 10th in trench coat and mine had the sonic screwdriver.

The Martha figure is useless to me and the RAF Captain Jack wasn't one I wanted either. I'd much rather the have new one in trench coat of the Torchwood version. Considering neither the Doctor or Jack had their sonic devices...

If you want those three figures, it's worth it. If not, try to find the flight control TARDIS by itself unless you do what I did and give away some/all the figures.

Hey, The, did you ever get yourself a TARDIS?

I noticed something interesting with the FC TARDIS... it's not scaled for the 5" figures. I noticed that in re-watching selected episodes from series 2 with my roomie the other night. In comparison to the figures, it's a bit too tall and too wide. Ah well, that's what you get when you start obsessing over collectibles. Wonder how many 8 year olds care about the scale. :D

I have the FC TARDIS. I had noticed that something seemed a bit off about it, but I couldn't quite place it. The sounds are kinda cool, but what I like best is just watching sit there with the lights on, in silence. :D

And at least the door open in the correct direction, unlike the bank (which I also have).

Actually, they have. I have one myself, in fact. Heh, I even had him hold on to the TARDIS as he did in Utopia. The figure doesn't include a backpack, though, so it wasn't exactly the same, but close enough. ;)

I also recently got the 4th and 5th Doctor figures. Other than the fact that 5 isn't wearing his celery () they are both awesome. I also have the TARDIS Console Room playset coming. :D

I've got the 5th, with celery, from the Time Crash set. I'm going to have a damned hard time getting the 4th, and especially the 6th. No-one, and I mean no-on, in Canada has them. I've looked at some shops online that ship internationally but the only one that seems to have anything in stock is that DW Merchandise site that you get when you go to the Underground Toys site and I've heard some horror stories about them, their customer service and delivery times.

I have not. I think at this juncture I'm going to wait until after Xmas to see what the wife gets me. I might get impatient, though.

The scale doesn't bother me, really. I'm just going to use them like cheap statues, anyway. ;)

I've got the Timecrash Davison & Tennant, the variant Eccleston, and a Colin figure so far. A buddy in the UK is shipping a Tom as we speak, and as soon as I pick up a regular version of the non-celery Davison (cause I'm not planning on opening my Timecrash set.....yet), I'll begin working on the rest of the Classic Wave 1. I want to build the K-1 Robot one day. :techman:

Meanwhile, Forbidden Planet has yet to ship my pre-order (made on August 8th), so I don't ever plan to buy from them again...

I'm dying to get my hands on a Colin figure. Appears they're going to be rare and I've seen some ridiculous prices online already. I'm just hoping that some retailer gets them into Canada soon.

I'm utterly amazed at how Character Options completely (apparently) dropped the ball on the supply/demand issue with the classic figures. Unless they did it on purpose... one never knows.

Yeah I know you can get the celery with the Time Crash set, but I wasn't going to pay that much, especially since I already have three 10s already.

DW Merchandise is where I got my 4 and 5, for $15 US each. Yeah, they took about a week and a half to get here after ordering, but other than that, I had no problems with them.

Yeah, I want him too. They had him at DWM along with 4 and 5, but as opposed to the $15 for those two, 6 was $23! I wasn't going to pay that much. $15 is pretty much my limit for any regular sized DW figure. I wish you luck in finding the figures for a good price! :)

So... you got yours from DWM and had no problems? That sounds promising though I've heard complaints. I had one and haven't even bought from them. In the spring, I went to order from them and the checkout wouldn't let me because I lived in Canada, even though the site said the ship internationally. So, I emailed of course asking and it took almost a month for them to say yes we ship to Canada but not even an explanation about what went wrong with their shopping cart so I figured I'd give them a miss. But... :$23 isn't bad considering most stores here will sell all the figures for $20 or so.
